Re: Radisson Hotel -What is it like??

My husband and I are planning our 2nd trip to Aruba to stay at the Radisson. The hotel is incredible. Very Clean. The meals are pricey but if you leave the resort there are a lot of places to eat all in walking distance. We found Cafe's and bagel places with outdoor and indoor eating for breakfast and the resort has a whole list of restaurants that they will make reservations for you for dinner. They always had daily activities for kids to do. A lot of the kids were enjoying themselves right at the pool and beach though. I have some friends that stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree, although I don't believe it is as nice they said there kids ( 8 and 11 yrs old) had a blast. When you do go definitly rent a jeep and explore the island, we loved it and so did kids.

Do they have a pre-diem electricty surcharge like the other Marriott property on the island?

Re: Radisson Hotel -What is it like??

Stayed at the Radisson several times. The grounds are just beautiful as well as the restaurants. It is clean, however I would recommend staying in the Tower, the ground floor rooms with the garden/patio view tend to have baby lizards that crawl under the door. Although they won't hurt, its not very appealing in your hotel room. To be very honest Aruba is more of a romantic relaxing island for adults where there is not much at all for children to do other than hang out on the beach. Over the years we have seen more and more people come with small children and they tend to get very bored rather quickly and its really not fair to them or the other guests. Well, your children are older and should be alright. I never did see any group activities at the Readisson or any of the other hotels for children going on. Hope you have a fabulous time.

Re: Radisson Hotel -What is it like??

when are you planning to travel,

have you considered a rental of a timeshare unit? I been doing ot for 24 years, you get larger, more private facilites,

I have brand new units coming on line in the Divi Beach & Golf Resort located across the beach from the Divi Tamjrin & Divi Aruba motels.

you can get save big $$$ , especially if you are renting 2 rooms,

Re: Radisson Hotel -What is it like??

I've stayed at the Radisson just a couple of months ago. Although, yes the hotel is nice, and the dining options are quite nice as well, the hotel itself does not offer much of anything for teenagers. For the younger crowd, the hotel offers what seems to be a so-so program, but other than that, your kids will be fine at the pool or the beach. I recommend the water sports such as the rafts or banana boats. Also, if your teens are looking for excitement, try the "screamer", a boat that spins really quickly, a sure hit with the kids. For kids, it will probably be best to venture other dining options outside the raddison

Re: Radisson Hotel -What is it like??

Just got back from my honeymoon (9/nights) at the Radisson (July 18th - July 27th). Have been there in the past 01/02. Very disappointed. The hotel is beautiful (don't get me wrong) but my travel agent upon our arrival ordered my husband and I a dinner voucher ($75 Laguna Restaurant), 1 bottle of red wine and chocolate covered strawberries and we received NOTHING. The hotel totally dropped the ball. Also, my boss requested that the hotel bring us up a bottle of champagne and we got a little basket of nuts. How disappointing!!! There wasn't any entertainment the entire time we stayed. All the other hotels (Wyndham and Hyatt) had live music. Also, repairs and maintenance our entire stay out on the balconies - we couldn't even use them because we were afraid that we would get hurt.

Fire alarms rang 2x on 2 different nights and they offered no explanations or apologies.

All in all the trip to Aruba is always wonderful but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone ever again. Extremely disappointed.

Good Luck!!!
