    Radisson - palapa system?

We're planning a trip for November. We'll be staying at the Divi the first half and for the second half we would like to spend time in the high rise area. Looks like we've narrowed it down to the Radisson and I'm wondering about their reservation system for a palapa. At the Divi I just throw my stuff on a chair when we're on the way to breakfast. At the Radisson I see posts about people lining up and waiting an hour! Is it really that much of a deal? Also wondering about the Plaza Club option. Is there that much difference in the rooms to justify the added expense. I know that breakfast is included by I can just as easily walk to Scotts Brats.

Palapas are available for sign up the afternoon before starting at 3 PM.... During our visits (always July or August) we've never had a problem reserving one even if we wait until 5-6 in the afternoon. I imagine you'd be OK in November too. We've done the Plaza Club as well as rooms in the Bonaire or Curaco tower. The rooms in the Aruba tower are the same size, Plaza Club or not.... about 475 sq ft... with the B and C tower being around 375 sq ft. Suites are larger. We like the B and C tower just fine. It's normally a bit less money...... AND we don't spend a lot of time in the room. You'll love the Radisson!

Thanks CP I knew you would post with good info. I think we're leaning towards the deluxe ocean view in the Aruba tower. DH isn't big on breakfast and, of course, no longer drinks so the extra amenities of Plaza Club probably aren't worth it. We're not that fussy about the palapa location I just don't like waiting in line.

We've requested a deluxe OV in the B or C tower this year..... you'll love the balcony and the view from either. Might want to check out Player's Choice/MCM tours for the Radisson packages. Great travel pros.

Palapa tip: If there is a cruise ship in town... select a Palapa toward the Gilligan's end for less crowd since the day trippers w/b at the Bugaloo end.
