The Renaissance

I'm a few days from booking a trip to Aruba in October. My wife and I are thinking of staying at the Renaissance (formerly the Sonesta). Has anyone stayed there? Any information about the hotel would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RE: The Renaissance

Kent,

My wife's parents has a timeshare at Renaissance and we are going again this year (2nd) time in Aruba. We love the Sonesta for the pool, nice rooms (especially the suites with kitchens), but their private island make it all worth while with the adult beach and the family beach with a restaurant on the island. This is a good escape from the crowds and is just a couple minute boat ride away. Boats run back and forth all day long. Plus you can snorkel and rent equipment out on the island. Also, being close to Oranjestad is nice for the shopping and food. I would highly recommend the Renaissance.

RE: The Renaissance

If you are staying at the Renissance timeshare Tom is right about everything he said. However, if you are talking about the hotel itself, it is not on the beach. They provide a boat to take you back and forth to their beach. The hotel is lovely, but if you want to be directly on the beach, this is not for you.

You won't be dissapointed at the Renaissance-hotel or timeshare-The location of both are great, one is across the street from the other. From either place you are just a 10 minute boat ride from the island.

It is a great resort if you are at the beach towers. I was there for a week room 2146 ocean front, perfect!
