Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino

We are contemplating staying at this resort. Does anyone know any plusses or minuses??? This will be our first trip to Aruba. There will be two couples. Is the pool nice? is it close to beach? Are the restaurants nice? Is it couple friendly? Easy access to shopping? Any info would be appreciated. It appears to be owned by the Marriott. Wondering about the amenities.

Re: Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino

Renaissance is in downtown ..walking distance to shopping and dining..The property has a pool on site, however the also have a boat that takes you to their private island and beach which is lovely..Check out their web site..it has a lot of info..You can also call the 800 # for the marriott and they will give you any and all info you want. We stayed there a year ago and loved it. We always stay in the Marriott Hotel in the high rise section, but had the oppetunity to spend a few extra days in Aruba so we opted for the Renaissance downtown..Was a good experience and will probably do it again..I will say it is busy where the high rises are quiet. It depends on what you want for a vacation. If you want lots of action, then downtown is for you..if you want quiet, then the high rise section is better.
