Renaissance Hotel

I have an opportunity to stay at this hotel the first week of Dec 2003 at a very cheap price(travel agent rate). I heard that the hotel is going or just completed a major renovation.

What can you tell me more about this hotel?

Can you buy all inclusive deal at the hotel and is it worth doing that. This is my first time in Aruba.

Thanks
Veronika

Re: Renaissance Hotel

This hotel is located directly in town so that would eliminate the need for all inclusive as there are so many restaurants to choose from, just a short walk from the hotel. The Renissance is not directly on the beach, but they provide a boat that takes you back and forth to their private island. It looks lovely but never saw the rooms.

Re: Renaissance Hotel

Great property right in downtown with a shuttle boat to their own private island.
Don't do all inclusive there. You can walk to a dozens of great restaurants.

If you're looking to walk right out the door to the beach, this is not the place.

Re: Renaissance Hotel

I know that they have been going through renovations that should be completed by December of 2003. Does anyone know if that has been done or are they still doing a lot?

Re: Renaissance Hotel

I just got back from Aruba I stayed at the Wyndham, but my cousin is at the Renaissance hotel now and I saw her room. They are very nice and very clean and yes they did a renovation and it's beautiful! They are renovating the Renaissance Beach Resort which is across the street and down a little from this one.. I like the other one that is right in town.. The lobby is beautiful and the pool there is nice and you can use the Renaissance Beach Resorts pool and beach, it's very nice and they have a swim up bar and also the private island that I hear is beautiful... Hope this helps...
