Needs a nice pool?? Dude, it's going to be upper 80's and sunny.. Get to the beach!! Anyways, I recommend the Renaissance. Both of their hotels are very nice. It is right downtown by all the action, shopping and restaurants. You take a short boat ride to their private island. It is beautiful! Im sure the Hyatt is nice too.. Have fun either way!

Re: Renaissance or Hyatt - which one?

Just got back from staying at the Renaissance Marina Resort. The room was nice, but I would recommend staying at one of the "high-rise" hotels which are on the beach. I really didn't feel like I was in a vacation resort with this being on the main steet, which is very loud during the day and early evening hours.

I went to the Hyatt to gamble one night, and the place looked very nice.

Recommend the Hyatt or Radisson.\ or Wyndham.
Been to all 3.
The Ren. is right downtown across from the water.

The high rises are on the beach (Palm Beach)

Re: Renaissance or Hyatt - which one?

Went in December for our 5 year anniv. We stayed at the Radisson and would hignly recommend it. You can take a virtual tour of the Rad on their website. I think you would be very happy with it, very nice pool, grounds, beach, staff, etc. It is located on Palm beach instead of downtown at the Ren. The Marriot, Hyatt are also very nice. Good Luck and Enjoy!!!

Been in Aruba for 21 years now, DONT stay donwtown at the Renaissance if you want a REAL vacation. PALM Beach is the place to be and the Raddison is one of the best. You can virtual tour them all whats the problem?

Re: Renaissance or Hyatt - which one?

Hey Bob, Everyone is entitled to ones opinion. I think you are wrong. We have stayed both places and objectively they are both excellent!
Renaissance's location and private island are ammenities that cannot be offered by any other resort on the island. Perhaps they don't appeal to you....so whatever. We spend 1 day at Palm Beach each trip just for the long walk but I'll personnaly take the private island the rest of the week.

Re: Renaissance or Hyatt - which one?

The Renaisance Timeshares are lovely and quite private and also have hotel rooms. It is quiet there and you can walk to town. If you want a bigger room with some kitchen things then the Renaissance is the place. The Hyatt is beautiful but the rooms are small. Rent a car and explore.
