when renting a condo from a timeshare owner do you receive any paper work from owner or do they just call the timeshare to confirm different people will arive that week?

Diane, I rent out a time share unit at the Marriott. The way I handle it is I make the reservation for the person and then give them the phone number and Reservation number to confirm it themselves. Once I get written confirmation I then send it to the person renting the unit. Other people will handle this differently, but I want the persont o feel comfortable about sending me a check after the reservation is made.

The owner should supply you with a letter to the resort stating that his permission to use the time. He should also advise the resort in writing before.

i just rented a time share from an owner at costa linda,and not only did i receive a copy of the fax that the owner had sent but i also recived a copy that the resort had sent the owner with my name on it as the user of the timeshare for that week. last year i had rented at casa del mar and all i received was a copy of the letter that the owner had sent to cdm, it was enough. But last year just to be on the safe side i e-mailed the resort about one month prior to going there just to confirm. I know its a long trip to make and find out there is a problem.
