Which resort?

Hi all!

I am a "newbie" here! Disney is my specialty! However, my 10th anniversary is coming up in December and hubby and I have decided to go back to Aruba! YAY!! That is where we spent 10 days for our honeymoon.

Well, on our honeymoon we opted for the affordable all inclusive Bushari Bounty. Nothing bad to say about it...had a wonderful vacation BUT this time we want to stay at the "finest"!! It will be a short 3 night trip with no children!

I have just begun my "quest" in finding the perfect resort. At this time I have a reservation at the Whyndam but it is not set in stone. We definately want to be right on the beach. So, I guess I am just looking for advice/input. We would really just love to have a WONDERFUL resort. Don't know when we will make it back so we are willing to splurge!

I appreciate all advice!

Marriott Ocean Club. The best place on the Island!

Re: Which resort?

Well the 3 top resorts are Hyatt, Radisson and Marriort with Wyndham coming in a close. All are located on Palm Beach where there's ton of activity. If you want something more peaceful and geared more towards couples then Bucuti would be perfect...smallish resort with European flair. Nothing fancy, it's the service that is outstanding and makes you feel so special plus they are on a HUGE expanse of beach (low-rise area). If you choose Bucuti go for one of the new Tara Suites.

DON'T GO TO THE MARRIOTT. It is severely overcrowded and they charge you to use a palapa that they put up on a PUBLIC BEACH!!! When is the government going to get involved and put a stop to that ripoff? Stay at the Wyndham. If you are unsure, then look at the Radisson or Hyatt.

Re: Which resort?

Thanks guys...I will look into all of the suggestions! I can not wait! Do any of the mentioned resorts offer a plan that inludes drinks and breakfast? The Whyndam offers this and it sound like a good deal. Our bar bill will be CRAZY I'm sure! lol Hey, no kids, no driving...I will have a frozen drink in hand at all times!

I am also looking for restaurant advice. I did poke around that forum as well. We did go to El Gouchos on our honeymoon and it was wonderful. Other than that we really just ate at the resort as it was all inclusive.

Re: Which resort?

The Marriott has a plan that includes breakfast. The Hyatt and Radisson are deffinatly a step above the wyndham. The only problem with the wyndham is the wind. Because of the way it faces it is the windiest place on a windy island.

Re: Which resort?

O.K. so if it was a decsision between the Radisson and the Wyndham....Radisson would be the better choice? I have both on hold now and I am starting to lean towards the Radisson. Looks beautiful and if the Wyndham really is the windiest spot then that may be an issue! I know how windy the island is!

Re: Which resort?

Please check the Renaissance Beach Tower Ocean Suites. Very private, hardly any children, and you have your access to a private 42 acre island with the oceanos spa.

Paradise found for us. Good Luck!

Re: Which resort?

The Marriott is NOT over crowded... And they DO NOT charge guests/owners for huts.... You have the WRONG information.

The hut system goes like this: You must go to the towel hut to be "assigned" to a hut, so others who are NOT guests/owners do not take them from us! There is NO charge for the huts....Unless you are not a guest/owner...

The over crowded situation that you speak of I have never seen.... Unless there is a time of year when everyone else on the Island wants to use our beautiful beach area.... And I can't say I blame them the beach at Marriott/Palm beach is #1...
