    Resort Help

I am trading my timeshare in Hawaii to come to Aruba at the beginning of May. I just got an offer for the Casa Del Mar. Anyone have experiences there good or bad. We have stayed at the Divi Phoenix for three years so that is our standard.

we traded 2 lacabana units with interval and got a unit at Casa Del Mar and a unit at Aruba Beach Club. (2 yrs ago)

At CDM, we got a 1 bedroom unit. (ambassador units)
location is across the street from the CDM presidential units.
imo the CDM 1 bedroom units are not great.
the best thing about the unit was "the parking".......and that is pretty crummy to be only happy with the parking.
the units needed renovating and the pool at the ambassador suites was imo, dirty.
i heard that there was supposed to be a renovation, although i do not know if that has happened.
we would not stay there again.

the ABC was everything that the CDM wasn't.
    (the parking was tough hahahahaha)
we would trade into a 1 bedroom unit again there in a heartbeat.
    we loved the ABC

what are your other trade options?

in may 4 - 18, we traded into Renaissance Ocean Suites using Interval.

    CDM Unit

We actually have a 2 bedrrom option avaialable to us. I did read a couple of reviews that the 2 bedroom (Presidential units I believe) are the better. We are trading through Intervale as well.

the presidential units are waaay better than the ambassador units where my husband and i stayed.
i was told that the pool for those units has been renovated.
lots of the rooms are either poolside or beachfront.

like most places on the beach, get out on the beach early to get a palapa.

matthews restaurant is on property too.

parking of the CDM and ABC can be tough.

i recommend the presidential, not the ambassador.

    good luck

    what are your dates?

I took a chance, based on your info, and took the exchange offer. We're actually going to be there on April 26th for 10 days until May 6th.

Now to book 2 nights extra. I'll call them first, would be nice to stay put for 10 days.

    Extra nights

They told me they are sold out the two days I need but put me on a waiting list. I have an option to stay at the Marriott in the Marina for a couple of nights using my Marriott points. We like that hotel. For two nights it's fine without a kitchen.
