Smoker Friendly?

Hello everyone!

I was just wondering if any smokers have had any luck finding smoker friendly accommodations. Just the balconies/Patios would be fine. Unfortunately, my wife and I both smoke and it limits our choices. We're going to have a wonderful vacation, not to have to hide or go outside to have a smoke. Anyone's input is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!

The Tamarijn allows smokers. There is an ashtray in every room. They do not even offer a "non-smoking" room.

http://www.tamarijnaruba.com/faq.php
"Are non-smoking rooms available?
Non-smoking rooms are not available, however, the rooms are well ventilated."

To those who do not smoke, we have never had a "smoke smell" in any of our rooms.

Thanks Arubalisa!

I saw this resort and thought it looked great, but I was kind of leaning away from an all inclusive because of the price. I see that is where your headed next, Cheers! I had originally thought about the Bucuti, but the smoking building is far from the beach. Also, if you factor in buying all of our own food and drink the prices would be pretty close. Gonna give a look into Tamarijin!

Thanks a bunch!

I know the Marriott is "No-Smoking". But you can smoke out on your balcony. As long as you aren't smoking in the room and you are out on the balcony/patio, I don't think many hotels would stop you.

all of the casinos in aruba are horribly smokey
the seaport and crystal and alhambra are imo the smokiest

funny thing is in aruba all day long i am in a bathing suit.
then i put on a short or culotte set for dinner.
then we go to a casino for an hr or 2.....so the clean clothes that i put on at 6 are disgustingly filthy and smelly by 9 or 10. smells like i rolled in an ashtray

:-(

You are allowed to smoke in the lobby as well at Ren. I must admit after a day in the sun drinking Balshis then going aout for a yummy dinner I enjoy some sort of tabacco product with my night cap either cigar or cigtte. When I was there in April, just me and the misses we had a room that faced the parking lot / marketplace. There was no security patrolling looking up for smokers where as if you are in a room that faces the pool they are checking. It's still not aloowed but they aren't enforcing on that side. But there is a chance that an annoying neighbor on a balcony nearby can report you. Just look around first.
