Re: SMOKERS

Some restaurants and casinos have non-smoking sections but most don't. We try not to smoke in restaurants - just take a quick run outside in between courses because we really don't like to disturb anyone. Smoking is very common amongst Europeans so there is alot of that going on.

Don't think any strict rules like the States

A lot of the restaurants and bars are outside and in that nice breeze the smoke is gone before you know it.

Re: SMOKERS

I am not a smoker but unfortunately married to one. Smoking in Aruba is very loose. He smoked everywhere. Cig's are expensive so bring your own.

Re: SMOKERS

Cigarette prices are a lot cheaper in aruba then they are in new york city. I was in aruba in april and the price of a pack of marlboro in the machine was $3.50 and I noticed that the marboro in aruba are a little longer then the ones in the states.

Re: SMOKERS

Marlboro's you buy on Aruba are made in Aruba. Well of course they don't grow the tobacco there but they do manufacture the finished product.

Re: SMOKERS

I have to disagree about smokes being very expensive in Aruba.I am from NY and cigs here are $6 or more in Aruba they are 3.75 for marlboro's and that is even in a bar.

Re: HELP

My husband and I checked all all the hotels prior to booking and did not see any with a jucuzzi on the balcony. That is not to say that they don't exist. You may want to check out www.arubahouse.com - this is a house with it's own pool and beach. The pool (which is not on a balcony) has a jacuzzi/hot tub. You may consider it pricey but it has 5 bedrooms and if you can rent it by the day or you could get some really good friends to go with you and split the cost.
