somewhere for the young at heart

going to Aruba for the first time in mid Sept, only going for about 5 days, three ladies, is it safe, how's the weather, and most importantly things to do at night. Where would be a good place to stay, medium budget. all replies graetly welcomed.

Miranda,
Hello, Im from Boston MA and have been to Aruba 8 times. I like staying on the Palm Beach end of the island. It is the high rise hotel area. You have different price ranges there. I belive the holiday inn is the least expensive and then the most expensive is the Hyatt. I have to say I would stay at any of the hotles on that strip of beach.

I am 53, but I have "children" ages 30 28 23 who have gone (young ladies) and loved it. You can do as much and as little as you wish. If you look on the other part of the board you will find out a lot of info...Also the hotel will have information for you too.

You can just hop on a bus and go down town, buy a round trip ticket and save $$. No need to rent a car. Cab fare is regulated so its the same price from any of the drivers to go to the same place. Which isn't too much money. espcially with 3 people.

have a great time....Pat

Hi, If I was going with 2 lady friends and on a budget, think I would stay at Amsterdam Manor..or rent a 1 bedroom unit at Aruba Beach Club. These two places are quiet so on the other hand if you want to be closer to where the action is..the hi-rise hotels with all their restaurants/casinos/beach activities..would rent a one-bedroom unit at Playa Linda. If you want all-inclusive would recommend Divi Beach Resort. The dinner show at the Wyndham makes for a nice evening out. There's also a dinner show at the Rennaissance downtown. Either one can also be done without the dinner, just the show. Yes, you can feel safe out & about, just use your common sense as you would anywhere.

But it's a much quicker walk from your room to the beach than it is from most rooms at any of the hi-rise hotels. Sometimes by the time you get off the elevator in a hotel you could already be on the beach at AM. But hey, to each his own.
