that being said, it is a little gravel/rocky....not boulders or large rocks, but the area is SAND and some rocks.
water shoes advised.
it is a lovely area.
it is also very close to arashi beach, which in my opinion is the best heads over heels nicer than eagle or palm, ...........quiet, few people, and beautiful clear water and smooth easy entry. (yes palm and eagle are beautiful as well, but it is the lack of people on arashi that makes it more pristine

I used to play cruise ships as a musician and have been to Aruba (Divi Divi) several times and my wife and I have decided to book a studio in January. Wondering if anyone has stayed at Sunset Beach Rentals (Malmok Beach area).
Also wondering what "beers" are available at the grocery stores and at what cost?
Any chance there's Canadian whiskey available?
Any help will be appreciated! 188 sleeps til we are there!
My wife and I stay there twice a year. If you have the chance to book ocean view #2 it is worth the extra money. You get up in the morning and have coffee on your deck and look out at the ocean. The staff is Great and will do anything for you. Most beer are available at the store. The local beer is Balashi and try the Amstel Bright. The canadian Whiskey I'm not sure I would guess that you should be able to find it. There is a duty free liquor store at the airport. Have a great stay.
I would take the house over the studios out back if you have the option. We stayed out back and it was ok for the price ($60-ish a night at the time), but not at the high season rate unless you don't have any other options. The local beer is excellent, try it before you write it off. Can't help on the Canadian Whiskey, I love the local rum.
Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.
Good afternoon Ben and Kerry,
We hope to stay there when we go back to Aruba, likely in Sept. 2013.
If you would like a bit more info, go into the Hotels folder, you'll find a fairly thread I started entitled "Ariba Sunset Beach Studios in Malmok". There are about 6 responses, all of them very helpful and very positive.
It will probably be nice just to be that little bit removed from the non-stop bustle of the highrise area, yet just a few minutes drive from it when you want to head for dinner, a club or a casino.
Does anyone who's stayed at Sunset Beach Studios recently know if they have hot water for showers? We stayed there several years ago and they did not. We'd like to try it again, but we're wondering if the water situation is still the same. Thanks!!
per their website the descriptions says HOT WATER SHOWER
