Tam

My wife and I are planning a trip to Aruba in August and need some info. We have never been on the island before. We hear mixed things, but mostly positive, about the Tamarijn. The prices there are good. We read on one website that there is some sort of rusty pipe leading from the Tam across the beach to the water. Any truth to this? We also read that the beach in front of the Tam is dirty and unkept. As I said, most people didn't share these opinions, but some did. We are also wondering how this hotel compares to the others in the same price range. We are looking for the island feel and not the high rise hotels on Palm Beach. We have browsed online at the Divi Aruba, Tam, Amsterdam, Bucuti, and Manchebo. Any and all opinions on these hotels are greatly appreciated. We are also looking for a good online travel agent to book through. Who are you guys using to get the best deals?

Thanks a lot,
Todd

Re: Tam

My boyfriend and I stood at the Tam last May...wish we could go back....we love Aruba...that was our second visit there...the first time we went was 3 years prior to last year and we stood at the Allegro..We chose the Tam for the price. It was a very nice and friendly resort...THe nice part about the Tam is that if you are on any ground floor you are on the beach...it is a little rockier than the Allegro was, but it also is pretty much on its own..not as crowded which was nice.Like I said the staff is wonderful. We liked both places we stayed at.Nice part about Tam is that you can get the all inclusive with the DIVI..then you could use both facilities if you would want. Hope that helps.

Re: Tam

We just returned from our honeymoon and stayed at the Divi Aruba and it was absolutely awesome. The Tam and the Divi are both owned by Divi Resorts and if you go to one you get the all inclusive perks of both. If i were you i would with the Divi rather than the Tam. The beach is a lot nicer at the Divi.
