Tam-Divi food? Drinks?

were gonna give the Tam & Divi mega package a try.
was wondering about food and drinks.
do any of the restaurants at mega resort have good steaks or seafood?, or will we have to go into town?
also what type of beer besides Balashi do they offer (AI plan) any imports(killians, sam adams,becks,labatts?)..... or US domestics? Bud,MGD,Lite??

Re: Tam-Divi food? Drinks?

hey bob,

My wife & I spent our honeymoon at the Divi. There are 3 restaurants on the premises & they're all fantastic. My wife is 100% Italian (ie very picky) & the Italian restaurant knocked her socks off. You be very pleased with the food, I'm certain, including steak & seafood. Also there's a bar in the courtyard at the Divi that serves up brick-oven pizza's around the clock.

As far as booze goes, they did have Lite & possibly Becks. I am a San Adams drinker, myself, but survived on gin & tonics. Its not top-shelf liquor, but its not "fred's brand" either.

In short, you really never have to leave the resort to have a blast, but if you do, heres my advice. Avoid the tattoo cruise, it's boring & was our only regret. the kuckoo-canuco is fun, the safari was cool & the snorkeling & diving were the best. Watch out for the cab fares! there are buses that run into town for under 2$. & watch out for the sales pitch on the time shares. Although we bought one.

Seriously, we had a blast down there & we're sure you will too. We're from Boston & there were more Redsox & Pats hats walking around than I could count. So have fun & good luck.
