Tam sliding doors?

Ok-this is a dumb question but when you have the sliding doors open do you have a small screen in the side of the door? We are staying in bldg.21 at the Tam and I was just wondering, actually I am getting itchy to go, 3 more weeks! 0

No screens Dianne...and keep your door closed and locked with the bar at night. Security checks during the night and if your door is unlocked the front desk will call you and tell you to lock it...happened to us twice at 2AM.

It doesn't sound too safe staying at the TAM if they make you lock your door with a bar at night. You are far better off staying in a high-rise with a private balcony. Then you can leave your door open all night and listen to the relaxing sounds of the ocean.

RE: Tam sliding doors?

No screens. Yes use the bar to lock up. The old saying---"an ounce of prevention.....". Crime is very LOW in Aruba and can happen at the Tamarijn or at the high rises or at the airport, etc. Sounds to me like the Tamarijn Security is right on top of things and cares about protecting their guests. Good place to go. if I'm asleep I wouldn't hear the ocean anyway.

Petty Crime is everywhere !

----- Even heard of someone coming in that way once. So lock all your doors. Use your room safe. Don't leave wallets on beach when going in swiming. Most resorts let you charge drinks/food to your room so leave money "locked" in safe. There was a Post about someone at a casino having money taking once. Aruba is a very safe island. In 14 trips have never had anythings taken. But people visit Aruba from all over. Don't be a target for a fast hand.

RE: Petty Crime is everywhere !

Resorts prefer that you NOT keep your sliders open for any length of time to help keep the warm moist air out and thus help keep the mildew problem in check. You'll more often than not find this request somewhere in the resort literature in your room.
