I've found an favorable deal for a week in late Feb. at "Tropicana Aruba Resort & Casino". I gather that this facility had been closed for some time but has recently reopened under new ownership. General reviews are mediocre and indicate there is no casino, which is not a concern whatsoever to us. We're only looking for an affordable place to stay; not a resort atmosphere since we like to venture out in our vehicle rental for meals and entertainment.

Can anyone offer their recent experience with this facility? I'd appreciate it!

We were there in November and it's fine. Not the best buy any means but it's not the worst. We hang out at the Pata Pata bar for happy hour. I hear the casino (small one) is now open. Don't think you will be disapointed, it is a little run down but how long will you be in your room?
