Trying to decide on Holliday In vs Allegro

Hello, My friend and I are planning a trip to Aruba and unsure where to stay at either the Holliday Inn or The Allegro. I would truly appreciate feedback from anyone who has stayed at either place. I would love to hear details of each resort regarding the rooms, dinning/food, the beach, service, accommidations or anything that you can provide to me. thanks all Kim

Re: Trying to decide on Holliday In vs Allegro

After reading all the posted info on all the websites and looking at what each has to offer, we chose the Occidental.

Holiday Inn only has one square pool. No swim up bar. More food choices at the Allegro. Late night sports bar with dj and dancing. Just has more to offer all around.

Check out both hotels websites and see for yourself. Go Allegro.

Allegro is wonderful. We have stayed there the last three years and love it. Something for everyone.

Kim,

If you rent someone elses timeshare you'll have a kitchen and living room also and will probably be able to get a better deal.

Occidental is nice. But, as someone else already pointee out, it would be a much better deal to rent an owner's timeshare.

JMHO.

Re: Trying to decide on Holliday In vs Allegro

Hello Kim, I can only address the Holiday Inn. My wife and I , we're in our 60's now, have enjoyed the one week get away for the last 6 years. The beach is fantastic, the best on the island. The rooms, my wife says are Holiday Inn rooms. I find them All VERY NICE WITH FRIDGE, IRONING BOARDS, BALCONY ETC. The catagories of island view, ocean view and beach front go up in price according to this list. If you plan to save money or stay in your room drives your choice of location. The rooms are all basically the same. Beach front may be a little more spacious but not by much. We've stayed in all of them. Again the beach is fantastic. The deepest on the island which means plenty of sun which is our bag or sit under the palm trees in the shade if that is your thing. The food is plentiful and depending on which of their restuarants you choose the quality varies. We go all inclusive which I would recommend. The outdoor/poolside nightly buffet with entertainment serves what I would say at best is a mediocar meal. We prefer to dine at the indoor or outdoor restuarant and then join the buffet crowd for the entertainment. The casino, on site, is one of the better ones on the island. I do get into that also. Allegro I can't address. Holiday Inn I definitely do recommend. Enjoy your trip. Aruba is one happy island and if you don't have a good time it is your fault. Looking forward to our next trip.
