Walking to restaurants

Can you walk from the Holiday Inn or Wyndham to restaurants? We won't have a car and some evenings would like to just walk from the hotel to restaurants. We are considering either of those 2 hotels. Any advice on which one is better? Thanks.

Re: Walking to restaurants

Good evening, In my opion, I would say the wyndham. Each is at one end of the high rise hotel/timeshares. You can walk to plenty of resturants from either. the wyndham has more resturants in it than the holiday..I think. I stay at the phoenix, which is next to the wyndham, and also the marriott with is next to the holiday inn. If I had to choose it would be the wyndham. check out their websites.

Re: Walking to restaurants

There are a few restaurants across from the Wyndham area that would be walking distance. I believe Texas De Brazil is around there and we had an excellend meal there!

We're going (to the Wyndham) in two weeks, so I'll post a trip report when I get back.

Re: Walking to restaurants

Holiday Inn food is just that..Holiday Inn. while they do have places to dine ther..don't waste your money there..There is also Moomba Beach next door to the Holiday towards the Marriott and Azzuls whichm is at the playa Linda which is very good..Lost of places to dine within walking distance to the high rises..Holiday Inn just wouldn't be one of them

Re: Walking to restaurants

It is an easy walk (one mile approximately) from the Phoenix to the Playa Linda along a sidewalk by the beach. We did that every day to visit friends the last time we were in Aruba. The Phoenix is below the Wyndham, the Playa Linda is just below the Holiday Inn. There are many! restaurants in between. We never get a car. you will be fine. There is also a $1.25/2 RT bus that goes back and forth from downtown fairly often if you get really tired.

As for where to stay (which you didnt actually ask, Everyone has their favorites. All are great because Aruba is fun wherever you stay. Have fun.

Re: Walking to restaurants

There are several restaurants within walking distance from all the High Rise hotels.

Sole Mare is only about a 10-15 minute walk.
