Where do we stay?

My family has never been to Aruba. We are planning an August vacation with our two teenage daughters -- ages 17 and 19! They look 25!!! Where should we stay? I have started looking at websites, but am lost!

We love the beach, watersports, etc. Would like to be where there will be some action for the daughters as they get bored easily!

Please help me.

Re: Where do we stay?

Rent a two bedroom timeshare at Playa Linda,Costa Linda or Casa del mar.Go to their websites and look for owners renting the weeks you want !Much better value than a hotel and timeshares are where you will find other families in all age groups !

Re: Where do we stay?

I am truly asking for advice as my family has never been to Aruba. The "street" is not my idea of a place to stay. Some of the other responses were a little more helpful. I will check the other recommendations. Thank anyway.

Re: Where do we stay?

If it's a family vacation I would stay at the Aruba Grand. Older smaller hotel but renovated nicely, has by far the best beach in the HiRise zone. The pier between the Aruba Grand & Radisson has every water activity imaginable.
If you are looking for other teenagers at your resort you might like the Wyndham or Holiday Inn.

Re: Where do we stay?

I believe there either isn't a drinking age or it is 18 in Aruba... not quite sure though. But there seems to be more action by the high-rise hotels - water sports in particular. The Wyndham offers some great package deals.

Re: Where do we stay?

Am definitely looking for other teenagers -- preferably boys!!! Thanks for the advice. It is amazing the comments I have received from other websites. What do you think of the Allegro? I do not know anything about this, but received several comments about this.

Re: Where do we stay?

Thanks. I will definitely check this out. The drinking age is 18 (or they say)! My daughters have done a lot of travelling so they will definitely want to drink some. I appreciate your comments. They will interested in "clubs", dancing, having fun, etc. Need a safe place where they can do their thing and parents can do theirs!!! Parents are 50 and 56 -- but very young at heart. We have a lot of fun!!

Re: Where do we stay?

We stayed at the Wyndham and enjoyed it, but I would agree that anywhere in the high rise section they would probably be happy.

They'll love the beach and water, and there is a lot to do in town as far as bars/clubs, etc.

I booked through mcmtours.com and really had a great experience. They specialize in Aruba only, so they had a lot of knowledge for us -- since we were first time visitors as well!

Enjoy your trip!

Re: Where do we stay?

Hi... I have been to Aruba 6 times and stayed at 2 different hotels. The Divi Tamarijn and the Costa Linda. The Tamarijn is an All-inclusive hotel with a great atmosphere for all ages. If you want to party and meet people you can, but if you want to relax and do nothing you can do that too! The drinks are always flowing and something is always going on. Your daughters would most definitely have a great time at a place like this. However, the rooms are typical hotel rooms, so you'd most likely want to get two.

The Costa Linda is a time-share with one-two-and three bedroom units. It's a beautiful resort with a breathtaking strip of beach. Depending on what time of the year you go, it can be jumping with teens or none at all. I've been there in July and met about two dozen 18-22 year olds (I'm 22 now) and I've been there in August when there aren't too many people period.

Any other questions you have, please feel free to email me. Aruba is heaven on earth and I love talking about it! Hope this helps!
