RE: Where should I stay?

Jane- My husband and I stayed at the Radisson Jan.2001 and it was perfect. They have a lot of different views. Some looking over their beautiful gardens and some looking over all of their pools. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. In the lobby is DePalm tours and you can sign up for differnt events. I recommend the DePalm Jeep tour. We went off road touring (Natural Bridge, A village church) Then we went to their own part of the island and snorkled and had lunch. We also went horse back riding on the beach. Nortorious Horse Back riding was a better company than Camp Rancho (I can't remember the exact name right now) (We had to wait for another group to come and we had to make up time so we galloped all the way to the beach and all the way back) I came back to my hotel with welts on my thighs (not a happy time of my vacation) Camp Rancho was the first trip to Aruba. There are a lot of great shops in town. Which some are very very reasonable. Good luck!

RE: Where should I stay?

Jane,

I am returning to the divi aruba beach resort in july for the 3rd time. it is beautiful, on the beach and you can use the tamarijn restaurants, entertainment, etc. next door as well as all the divi has to offer. they are both all inclusive. the divi has bigger and newer rooms and the tam can have a better selection for food. divi has better beach with lots of palm trees. they have carts to ride you back and forth to tam or divi and the allehambro casino which is a 2 minute walk from divi. there is tennis, 3 pools, free sailboats, windsurfers, snorkel equipment etc included with all meals, snacks and drinks.
entertainment is great--don't miss comical limbo contest show--about 2 hrs long--fabulous

folks are pleasant. aruba is a safe and friendly place. maybe the other e-mails were talking more of arguments trying to drum up business from tourists, but not fighting. divi has stores on site and lobby has car rental and de palm tours booth there to arrange your trips without hassle. if you want to see fighting-go to jamaica.

Also contact american airlines--having a 35% sale on Caribbean destination vacation packages through march 31st. you must travel from april 15th to august 31st. divi has special honeymoon package also. recommend beachside or ocean front rooms.

any questions e-mail me, i could e-mail back pictures of divi, tam and all around aruba if you want

RE: Where should I stay?

Just returned from Aruba and read local newspaper article in regard to fighting on the beach between watersports vendors in competion to sell services--apparently there was a fistfight-- and it happened in front of the Allegro beach area. We stayed at La Cabana in Eagle Beach so we don't know personally of this incident.
