Where should we stay?

Hey everybody!
My boyfriend and are a thinking about going to Aruba in mid-July and are trying to choose between a few all-inclusives at various resorts. I was wondering if some of you who have been to Aruba could recommend one of the following over the others. The list we have to choose from is as follows:

Hoiday Inn SunSpree Resort
Allegro Resort
La Cabana All-Suite Resort
Divi Aruba Neach Resort Mega
Bushiri Beach Resort
Tamarijn Aruba Resort Mega

If any of you have any info on these and recommendation or warnings, please let me know!!

Thank you!
Michele

RE: Where should we stay?

If you want to be in the high-rise area where there is more activity then I would choose the Allegro. If you want to be in the low-rise area where it is more laid back then I would choose the Divi. We spent our honeymoon in Aruba and can't wait to go back. One of the reasons our honeymoon was so special was all the help we got from Travel Unlimited. They were excellent to work with. They answered all our questions and made great recommendations plus their prices were the best we found. We were hesitant to use an agency we knew nothing about but they are American Express affilitated so we knew they had been thoroughly checked and are on the up and up plus they were not just on-line but a real office. I highly recommend them. Go to http://www.travelunlimited.com

RE: Where should we stay?

The holiday inn SUCKS, the rooms are small and haven't been renovated in a LONG time, the pool is a JOKE

Divi and Tam -> stay away
the food is terrible and the Tam is way past its PRIME

If i were to do an all inclusive ( I'm not a drinker or a big eater) then I would stay at the Allegro.

have fun on the beach and don't forget a romantic night walking on the boardwalk behind the hotels

ciao

RE: Where should we stay?

First, do not go all-inclusive. Money wise, you are not ahead of the game. We just got back from LaCabana, go there. You get a suite for the price of a hotel room. Many nice restaurants, Driftwood, Buccaneer, Seafood Buffet at LaCabana Casino, free lunches at the casino. People there are beyond great!!!! Beach the best, Happy Hour 2 for 1!!!! www.lacabana.com Go there, you will love it!!!!! This was our third time there, can't wait to go back next year. Try renting from an owner, (timeshare) just pay for maint. and get a good airfare, you are ahead of the game $ wise. Let me know if I can help. Nannette

Divi if you must go AI !

There are a half dozen better Resorts that the ones you named.
AI does not always mean you will be saving money. What happens if you want to leave the Resort? To my knowledge none of the tours are included in most AI plans. Choice of drinks limited too at some places.
Did you check prices at Radisson, Wyndham, Bucuti, Manchebo?

RE: Divi if you must go AI !

I would not suggest the Tamarijin or the Divi Aruba. We just got back from there a month ago and non of the hotels mentioned are that great. The Allegro is in the high rise area and the water is much calmer on that end and I thought a prettier beach line. I would suggest looking into the Radisson, the Hyatt is gorgeous, or the Marriott. The food prices are not the expensive at restaurants and they have a variety of places to eat from inexpensive to very expensive. Hope this information helps.

there is no other choice but the hyatt...don't do all inclusive unless your in high school, this is where the big boys play, these are your memories, don't waste it by saving a few bucks.....belive me, it's worth every penny....

Where to stay

Michele.....Just returned 5/25 from our second stay in Aruba. Among your list, I can tell you that the Bushiri was closed by the government this past week. All the guests were sent to the La-Cabana. La Cabana looks nice from the outside, know two people who own timeshare there . Beach is across the street from the property. We stayed at the Allegro this trip and were disappointed in the rooms, leaky faucet and tub. Bathroom needed major work, but room clean. Yeah, noisy air conditioner too. Pool and beach are great, good drinks to be had at the beach and pool bar. Did not do AI . Went out to Twinkletones, Driftwood, El Gauc, to name a few. Ate lunch downtown and at other hotels along the Hi-rise area. Have a great time!
