whyndam

Hi, I am planning a trip to Aruba the day after Christmas thru New Years. I have always in the past stayed at the Whyndham, a friend of mine just got back from there yesturday and said it was horrible, The air was off all week in the casinos, elevators were under construction, they have pay bars in your room, so if you want to bring your own you have to rent one. I'm not sure where to stay no. Any Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank You

RE: whyndam

I just returned last night from the whyndham and I thought the place was awesome. Yes, one new elevator is being installed therefore only three were working but it was not a big deal. I was comfortable in the Casinos and I went there every night - the rest of the hotel is sooo cold that I think it balance out in the casino. Most nice hotels have pay bars - that is just a reality. The pool is beautiful, the beach is gorgeous, the staff is helpful and pleasant and you have many choices of dinner places. I think you should reconsider - it is still a great location.

Trisha, although this beautiful resort isn't the U.S., the general goal is still to turn a profit, so they're not going to stock your room full of booze like a rap video and not expect any kind of payment. And that the elevators ARE being replaced and worked on is a terrific thing, even if it isn't currently convenient.

RE: whyndam

We returned from the Wyndham a few days ago and had an awesome time---the beach was gorgeous and the pool was great--- wonderful food and the people were very nice to us--- yes-- they were fixing an elevator but seeing I was on the beach for most of the day it did not seem to be a problem--- we rented a fridge for the room for 5 bucks a day-- they never even charged us --ssshhhh !!!- We stocked it with our own beer and stuff--some people will complain about anything and everything-- I like to look at things as new adventures---we had a blast--Sue

RE: whyndam

I agree with Sue. We had a great 1st visit in August. The first thing we did was turn off the AC! The elevators weren't a problem. We also had a fridge which I think was free through Wyndham by request. The hotel was great. Each person has expectations and some people were more tolerant than others. We saw one couple blast the front desk because their room wasn't ready. Ours wasn't either (they were busy setting up our drinks and snacks). So what? We were finally in Aruba!! You'll have a great trip. I have a feeling that something can be found wrong with just about anyplace. It's all in your attitude! Have a great trip!

The better Wyndham

I am writing on behalf of the Wyndham Hotel in Aruba to inform that we are not under construction. We just finished fixing up the main driveway for the convenience of all our guests, and we have been replacing our elevators one by one for brand new ones.
We also replaced old refrigerators we had in every room, for new state of the art mini bars. Anyways, if a guest prefers to have its own refrigerator inside the room, there is the possibility to rent one for $5 a day.
Our Hotel is better than ever. The air conditioning system is working perfectly in all areas of the hotel, including the Casino.
We welcome all our guests to return to the Wyndham, and the ones who haven't been here, to experience a wonderful vacation with the Wyndham family.
