Wyndam in October

My wife and I will be staying at the Wyndam in October on the All Inclusive plan. This is the first time eitheir of us has been out of the US, let alone to the Carribian. I am 30 and she is 27, any thoughts of things to do? Food, nightlife, watersports, tours???

RE: Wyndam in October

You must to the Kukoo Kunuku bus tour. It takes you to the lighthouse for champagne, then to dinner, and on to three local bars. It's a total blast.

You can go dancing and eating in Oranjestad. The Wyndham has a decent casino and fabulous restaurants. Watch to see what shows/events are going on at the resorts on Palm Beach (where the Wyndham is).

We enjoyed some watersports (parasailing, tubing, etc), did some gambling. We also enjoyed just sitting around and relaxing much of the time.

Try the Flying Fishbone, La Trattoria, and El Gaucho for dinner. Explore more of the island by renting a 4x4. We checked out the Aruba Aloe factory, too, which was small but somewhat interesting.

My husband and I will be at the Wyndam in October celebrating our
35th anniversary. Aruba has become our favorite island. There is a lot to see and do.Be sure to rent a jeep and see the entire island. Have a great time!

We stayed at the Wyndham earlier this month and I would really rethink the all inclusive. We only ate 3 meals there during our trip-great food, but there was so much to experience outside the Wyndham. There are so many great restaurants-we could only choose a few. We also did an all day jeep tour, the party bus and a party cruise all of which included meals. There are also many beach bars to check out-all have happy hours. Have a great trip!

RE: Wyndam in October

GlenK - If I were you, I would not do the "all-inclusive" at the Wyndham and only do either the breakfast buffet (if you are not big drinkers) or the breakfast & beverage package for about $50 per person per day (if you are big drinkers). There are so many great restaurants that you will want to try while in Aruba. The Wyndham will only permit you to dine at Pago Pago (Polynesian) once during a 7-day stay. You are not permitted to dine at Blossoms (Japanese & Chinese) at all because it is not a hotel-owned restaurant. They will serve a moonlight dinner at the Terrace Restaurant (outdoors) once during the week. That leaves you with the Dinner Show and Cafe Baci for the remaining dinners, unless you want to go to the theme barbecues under the big Palapa (that doesn't sound very romantic to me). You can obtain all of the "all-inclusive" information from their website. Good luck in whatever you choose and have a wonderful trip. Make sure you dine at Madame Janette while you are there. Great food, service, ambiance (very romantic) and very reasonable prices.

RE: Wyndam in October

We stayed at the Wyndham in July, so much to do!! We did an all day Jeep Xtreme tour~ will take you to all of the Site seeing on 3/4 of the island (take old clothes you get really dirty, take water bottles, and an old bag with towels, sunscrren, snacks, and if yo wear contact lenes don't, camera), which included snorkeling(DePalm tour desk in lower lobby), on Tuesday afternnon we rode the bus into town and did some shopping, Iguana Joe's for dinner the BonBini Festival (only on Tues) @ Fort Zootman @ 6:00 and back to Iguana Joe's for drinks and dessert, reserved beach huts @ the Wyndham and enjoyed drinks at the beach, by the pool there is another tour company, so booked another snorkeling trip on a catamran, Sunset cruise is a must, rode the Banana Boats- you will see them when you hang out at the beach! Party cruise or party bus is a must!! We only did the Breakfast buffet since to many great other places to eat and the buffer runs until 12:00, Dunkin Donuts is right down from the Wyndham, if you want that for breakfast and save the buffet for lunch! Casinos are great! Food is good, if you do go to San Nicholas then taxi is more expensive due to distance but some great places to eat!! To party a must is Carlos and Charlies!! You will find lots to do!! Enjoy, it is a Wonderful place!!
