Wyndham

My fiance and I are thinking about staying at the wyndham for our honeymoon in Ausust. I was wondering about the all inclusive option. Has anyone done this, is it worth it? Also I heard that it is so windy that you can't sit on the beach, especially at the wyndham, how are the winds that time of year? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Wyndham

Jane - My husband and I stayed at the Wyndham during the month of September. The beach was breezy (more on some days than others), but it was tolerable. If not for the constant breeze, you would not be able to stand the 90 degree heat. The Wyndham is a great hotel for a honeymoon or special anniversary. The age group is rather mixed. We are in our mid-50s, but saw couples from young honeymooners to couples celebrating their 25th and 40th Anniversaries. We all gathered together during happy hour each day. We had a wonderful time at the Wyndham, and I am sure you will too. If you want to view the hotel or read other trip reports, go to www.arubawyndham.com. Unless you are both heavy drinkers, I would not choose to go all-inclusive. There are far too many great restaurants in Aruba to limit yourself to dining at your hotel every night. Contact MCM Tours (1-800-64-ARUBA) or visit their website (www.mcmtours.com) for the best package prices to Aruba. Congratulations and good luck.

Re: Wyndham

Jane, we were at the Wyndham in January. Varied ages. Linda is right. Dont limit yourself with an all inclusive. Sample around. As for the wind, my friend went windsurfing while I sunbathed at the Marriott waiting for him. The wind died down and believe me, you will wish for it to come back! August should be real hot. Take plenty of suncreen; use it everywhere you are exposed. :-D Unless you dislike hirise hotels (I had to get used to the 17th floor)the Wyndham is a wonderful choice. The views from your room should be spectaular. The people are great.

Re: Wyndham

Jane, I stayed at the Wyndham for my honeymoon and although nice, there really isn't much activity going on. As we walked down the strip there were other hotels we wish we stayed at. The wind is rough everywhere, not just at the Wyndham. I definately wouldn't go all-inclusive....although more expensive, there are so many wonderful restaurants on the island. If you can, try to go breakfast and drink all inclusive. The breakfast is really good, and the drinks are sooooo expensive. It would really be worth it! Congratulations and good luck!
