Wyndham all inclusive

Hi,

I just switched my stay from La Cabana due to all the negative feedback I heard about it to the Wyndham all inclusive.

Has anyone been here recently? Any problems? Did you enjoy the stay. Any details would be much appreciated. Also, I've heard the beach gets extremely crowded. Being that we are going in the off season...July 26-Aug 2nd, would it be less crowded?

Thanks for the input!

Re: Wyndham all inclusive

Wyndham is wonderful! I just got back from there not too long ago. The staff at the Wyndham makes the stay. All-inclusive is worth it if you dont like going out much. If you like going out then dont go all inclusive. Some people claim the Wyndham is really "windy" I think that it is just enough wind because you are always comfortable there! Good luck!

Re: Wyndham all inclusive

Shirley,

I know everyone is different. My husband and I like to socialize and have fun on vacation. Others like to keep to themselves. We honeymooned in Aruba last year 1 week at the LaCabana and 1 week at the Wyndham. We actually liked the LaCabana better!!! We found the beach nicer at the LaCabana (and less crowded). There is a public beach right next to the Wyndham (alot of kids) Lacabana's happy hour was alot of fun. Wyndam's happy hour was boring. The pool at the LaCabana is much nicer then the Wyndham's - We had kids running up and down the hall starting at 7:00am at the Wyndham, we didn't have any problems with kids at the LaCabana. The LaCabana is a large resort - but the Wyndham is also large. The food was better at the Wyndham but not by much. Just my opinion. You should talk to a travel agent that knows the Island. This is your honeymoon. Believe me we were very unhappy with the Wyndham for our honeymoon!!

Re: Wyndham all inclusive

Stayed at the Wyndham in April (all-inclusive) and loved it! Our opinion - not as nice at the Marriott (but also less expensive) but nicer than the Divi. The only negative comments are: the service at the beach bar, and there were a TON of kids taking swimming lessons on the weekends. I love kids too, but we could not even get into the water because there were about 100 little ones taking lessons most of Saturday and Sunday.

People may warn you about "surcharges"... You can definitely do AI and not spend an extra penny, but the Wyndham also gives you the option of ordering more expensive items such as filet and lobster tail for a minimal fee. We loved this! We did AI at the Divi, and only got so-so meals. This time we ate like kings and queeens! We spend the money and go to dinner at an island restaurant one night during our stay, and AI still the cheapest way for us to go. We are on the beach from 7 am - 7 pm and drinks can add up!

As said above, happy hour is pretty boring. That was okay with us though, since we only go to the bar to get our drinks and head right back to the beach. Same about the pool, didn't even step foot in it since we have a pool at home. Gotta take advantage of the beautiful beach!

All in all, we would definitely go back to the Wyndham.

Re: Wyndham all inclusive

Honeymooned at the Wyndham May 18, 2004. Had a wonderful trip. Loved the pool, on those days when the swimming lessons were taking place. The resort was beautiful and the food was very good. The italian resturant had great food and service. The casino was just big enough.

The staff at the hotel was very friendly. Carlos at the front desk was the best.

What-ever you do just enjoy...

Re: Wyndham all inclusive

when i stayed at the holiday in last year, the all inclusive didn't include budweiser as it did the year before. this was a big disappointment to us since that is what we drink. does the wyndham all inclusive have budweiser or michelob. holiday inn only offered miller and the dining room was alwyas booked up until 10;00 which was unacceptable.
