Wyndham Vs Allegro

Going on a honeymoon and was wondering if anyone had info on either of these that would sway me one way or the other. Want action and nightlife without a lot of kids as well as a very nice room

RE: Wyndham Vs Allegro

I have the same questions, too.
I want a very nice room without college parties and plenty to do. I know both offer all inclusives. I am leaning towards the wyndham. Are thei any special rooms to get? I was thinking of a jr. suite.

RE: Wyndham Vs Allegro

Karen and Nan - My husband & I stayed at the Wyndham last September and had a wonderful time. We also visited a timeshare at the Allegro while in Aruba and were not impressed at all. The Allegro has a bunch of immature, loud and rowdy people who are also heavy drinkers (all-inclusive = booze). The Wyndham is far better than the Allegro all around. Don't go all-inclusive because there are too many great restaurants in Aruba to try and you can eat for less then the Wyndham charges for all-inclusive. The best rooms are the low, even-numbered (sunset side) (04-06) overlooking the pool. 00-01-02 are Oceanfront Suites. Call MCM Tours for a price (1-800-64-ARUBA). Good luck.

RE: Wyndham Vs Allegro

I'd check out the Radisson.Triple A rates are about $200 a night. The other posters are correct about the all inclusives, People tend to want to get their monies worth so they drink as much as they can. I only have two or three drinks a night so I can't justify paying for an all inclusive. I also don't want to eat in the same two restaurants all week, one of which is probably a buffet. I used to do the all inclusives and it took me 3 months to take off the weight I gained in a week. There are too many things to do there other than getting drunk every day!!!

RE: Wyndham Vs Allegro

Nan - All-inclusives are for people who don't mind eating crappy buffet food so they can drink as much as they want all day long and they can feel that they haven't overpaid. They don't have to worry about ever leaving the resort because they can't even see straight to do so. It's no wonder there has been a lot of fights in front of the Allegro, because the Allegro is one of those wonderful all-inclusives. I wouldn't stay at the Allegro if they gave it to me for nothing.

do you think the same of the new, all-inclusive Wyndham?

RE: Wyndham Vs Allegro

I just changed my vacation from Allegro to Wyndham. Just a total of a $200 difference for 2 people. I think it will be well worth it. I've just heard too many bad things about Allegro.

Kerry - My husband and I stayed at the Wyndham last September. We had a wonderful time there. Make sure to join Wyndham-by-Request at least several weeks before you go. Go to www.arubawyndham.com to find out about it and to join. They will give you a room upgrade if a better room is available at the time you check in. The best rooms are the low even-numbered rooms (sunset side) (04-06). These rooms overlook the pool. Good luck and have a wonderful time.

RE: Wyndham Vs Allegro

Hi,

We just returned from Aruba 3 weeks ago and were in shock when we walked into our room at the Allegro. The rooms were run down, dirty and full of rust marks in the bathroom, walls and balcony outside. There were cigarette burn marks on the head board of the bed and the dresser and night stands. We complained to the manager and we were moved to a " nicer room" on the other side of the hotel which was basically in the same shape minus the cigarette burn holes. We booked our trip thru Vacation Outlet.com and came home and wrote letters to the Operations Manager stating they should be ashamed of themselves for advertising the Allegro as a 4 star hotel. It is not! 2 maybe!
Do yourself a favor and stay at tht Radisson or Hyatt which are on either side of the Allegro. The beaches are beautiful no matter where you are, so you will enjoy yourself when you get to Aruba.

I really feel the need to tell the truth about my experience at the Allegro since we felt very mislead and are NOT the type of people who complain alot nor are we " fussy" The accomodations were simply unacceptable! Your initial question was re: the views from the rooms. Yes you can see the pool and or ocean from the room depending on where they put you. The views are ok since all rooms face the beach or pool as long as you are on the 3rd floor or above.

RE: Wyndham Vs Allegro

I want to party with you Sharon!! Boy o' boy you sound like a barrel of fun. I really like how you seem so down to earth and not at all pretentious. I am formally inviting you to the Allegro while I'm there. You and I will drink our faces off and passout naked on the beach everyday.Lighten the hell up--you probably vacation once every 15 years so you save all your "hard earned cash" to go on vacation and have you fat-ass pampered. Let me guess-you get really upset when there are children running around the pool distracting you from YOUR relaxation on YOUR VACATION. May a jelly fish sting you right on your sour puss. Now go fetch me the head of Alfredo Garcia!! CHOP CHOP!!
