Ian Ross Names Aruba Marriott Resort His Home-Away-From-Home
After a $50 million overhaul, beachfront resort the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino has received positive guest comments about the hotel’s enhancements.
A recent post on the Orbitz blog by Ian Ross, Vice President of the Eastern Region for the well-known and popular electronic travel channel was a tremendous compliment for the resort. Out of all Caribbean islands and hotels in his portfolio, he mentions “Our Caribbean vacation destination of choice is Aruba. Our beach and home-away-from-home (for five years), is the Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino.”

Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) has confirmed additional summer charter service from Canada by Canadian Tour Operator, Thomas Cook, to be operated by Westjet. The charter program will be in effect from May 1, 2010 through October 30, 2010 between Toronto and Aruba. Westjet will operate the flight with a B737-700 or 800 aircraft with either 136 or 166 seats configured on board. The flights are scheduled to depart on Saturdays at 13:20 local Toronto Time and arrive in Aruba at 18:19 local time.
More than 30 guests of Bucuti Beach Resort turned out yesterday to support American talk show host Ellen Degeneres’ quest to achieve world domination. Aruba Cruise Tourism Authority in collaboration with the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino now offer cruise visitors an opportunity to have their wedding on Aruba’s world famous beaches while their ship is docked in the Port in Oranjestad.
The renovation and beatification plan of Oranjestad, the main street area and surroundings have started. The first phase is now ongoing with the main entrance to the main street closed down for construction work. The renovation and beautification plan is all part of “Bo Aruba” (Your Aruba) and comprises several different phases. The main street itself will be remodelled along with the water towers in Oranjestad and San Nicolas, the old John F. Kennedy School and the court house and several other buildings. The project is estimated to be finished in year and a half and will cost an estimated 100 million florins (US$55 million).
