Friday, May 28th – The 10th Annual Soul Beach Music Festival Hosted by Aruba inaugurates the main stage concerts with “Shaquille O’Neal All Star Comedy Jam” at the Aruba Entertainment Center with a line-up of comedic greats dispensing cosmic wisdom and gut hitting one-liners on the main stage featuring:

Kevin Hart: Kevin has the uncanny ability to flip the proverbial script and integrates his comedic routines to the fit the audience. His screen appeal has led him to be featured in films such as Paper Soldiers, Scary Movie 3, Along Came Polly, and Scary Movie 4.

Mark Curry: Mark is best known for his starring role in the ABC sitcom “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper,” along with countless other television & film credits but his own stand-up comedy special for Comedy Central unveils his undeniable humour and keen sense of improvisational timing.

Sporting Events Feature Running Races for the Fit and Active Lifestyle

Looking for a perfect beach escape that offers more than just the sun, sea and beach? Trying to stay healthy and fit while on vacation? Then Aruba is the answer. The running races represent a great team building activity with strong appeal to adults and children alike, turning the competitions into a family-oriented activity which can be enjoyed in addition to the regular beach activities. The races provide an experience for families and friends to work together and combine beach fun with more athletic activities.

On June 21, Aruba welcomes the 25th International Triathlon with competitions that include a 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike race and 10 km run. • September 18 – 10 km Race Walk. The race begins at 5:00 pm in the parking lot of Alhambra Casino
• October 16 – ARRUWAC 5 km Fun Run/Walk- Universal Youth Trophy. The race will start at Macuarima at 5:30 pm.
• November 7 – 5 km Cross Country race at 5:00 pm at Alto Vista.

The Westin Aruba Resort will host its Sixth Annual Aruba Wine, Food & Art Festival from Thursday, June 3 – Saturday, June 5, 2010. • Winner of nine Grammy Awards, Mary J. Aruba Birdlife Conservation Established

On May 11th, 2010, in the office of notary public Rodriguez-Taekema, a new foundation was established; the Aruba Birdlife Conservation with the aim of protecting the biodiversity in general and birds in and around Aruba in particular. Among other things, the foundation will focus on increasing the survival chances of species of wild birds by promoting their preservation and conservation.

Alliances will be made with internationally acclaimed organizations that protect wild birds. One of the objectives of the foundation is the publication of educational material to make Arubans as well as tourists conscious of the beauty of Aruban birds and to create appreciation for the beauty of the Aruban flora and fauna in general.
