At present, the 737-300 Boeing Aircraft with 141 seats is getting all its required livery and maintenance checks and will be arriving in Aruba soon. The corporation Tiara Air Aruba was recently authorized to do business in the USA and has received its certification as Tiara Air N.V. Incorporated.

On September 8, the executive management of Tiara Air Aruba, the island’s highly successful home-grown carrier, proudly opened their fourth reservation office in the courtyard of the Olde Molen in Palm Beach.
The attractive new office sits in the shadow of this well-known island landmark and will be managed by Nicole de Cuba. Tiara Air Aruba CEO Alejandro Muyale welcomed several of the company’s tourism partners for the festive opening event. This included officials from the Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao tourism entities and tour operators who are collaborating in their newly launched Island Hopping Tours.

Last week, the official presentation of the Fokker 50 aircrafts to Insel Air International took place in Curacao. These are the new aircrafts acquired from KLM that will carry the Aruba logo. These aircrafts will be registered and stationed here on Aruba as soon as the AOC is completed. The Fokker 50’s will be part of the Insel Air International fleet along with their MD 80 which will all carry the Aruba branding. They will operate as a separate entity as Insel Air Aruba.
They are programmed to operate as of this year from Aruba to the following destinations: Curacao, Caracas, Barquisimeto, Miami, San Juan and Punta Cana. In the second phase, in 2012, they will begin flying to Sint Maarten, Valencia, Barranquilla, Medellin, Quito, San Jose and Havana, Cuba.

Aruba’s enormously upgraded and attractive Universal Air Service terminal that opened a little over a year ago and serves private and business traffic, welcomed Prime Minister Mike Eman yesterday morning to announce the official commencement of Phase 1 of a 3-part expansion project.
Aruba Airport Authority CEO Peter Steinmetz explained the necessity of the expansion, and affirmed the success of the new facility which has precipitated a vast increase in private air traffic to Aruba since it opened, particularly from Latin America.

Minister of Tourism, Transport & Labor Otmar Oduber recently announced that Aruba’s own Tiara Air and Insel Air, based out of Curacao, have agreed to work cooperatively in providing flights out of Aruba to several new destinations, and inversely, allowing these new markets direct access into the island.
Managing Director of Tiara Air, Alejandro Muyale and CEO of Insel Air, Albert Kluyver joined Minister Oduber at the dais to elaborate on the new routes and the news that both private airlines will also be endorsed as official island air carriers with the Aruba brand emblazoned on their planes traveling to and from Aruba.

Fitch Affirms Aruba Airport Authority N.V. at ‘BBB’; Outlook Stable

After Moody’s assessment in June 2010 to maintain Aruba Airport Authority N.V.’s Baa3 credit rating with Stable Outlook, Fitch Ratings recently affirmed Aruba Airport Authority N.V.’s ‘BBB’ underlying long-term rating on approximately US$38.6 million outstanding airport revenue bonds. The Rating Outlook is again Stable. According to Fitch Ratings; the following can be highlighted, supporting the rating:
The airport is performing in line with expectations with no deterioration in operations since the previous review. The rating affirmation reflected: i) a strong debt service coverage ratio of 2.18 times (x); ii) steady enplanements compound annual growth rate (CAGR) at 2.1% since 2004; iii) adequate internally-funded capital improvement plan with no near-term future issuances planned; iv) a relatively short amortization profile of the authority’s outstanding revenue bonds; and v) the ability for the airport to modify tariffs passenger facility charges (PFCs) as needed, without regulatory interference by the government.
Delta Airlines Expands Service to Aruba – La Guardia to Receive Additional Weekly Service in the Winter Season

Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) has received word from Delta Airlines that as of December 18, 2010 through April 30, 2011, air service to Aruba will be expanded with weekly service from La Guardia airport. Service will be on Saturdays only and Delta plans to utilize B737-800 aircraft comfortably seating 16 passengers in business and 144 in economy. The flights will conveniently leave New York’s La Guardia airport at 10:36 in the morning and arrive in Aruba at 17:30 in the late afternoon.
