Over 150,000 Readers Agree - Aruba Stands Out Among 25 Caribbean Destinations & Racks Up Four Prestigious Awards
Aruba brings home the gold this year in the April issue of Caribbean Travel + Life (CT+L)! Honored with the top award for “Best All-Around Destination,” Aruba’s crystal blue waters, white sand beaches coupled with the islands energetic nightlife, warm and inviting locals and unmatched hotel product all helped the readers of CT+L to name the tropical oasis numero uno. With over 25 different tropical destinations in the running, Aruba was ranked the number one choice by the over 150,000 readers who voted.
Various Caribbean destinations and resorts were ranked by thousands of discerning readers of CT+L, true Caribbean connoisseurs, in a variety of categories from Best Beaches to Best Beer. Aruba’s lively hot spots for night owls were ranked “Best Nightlife” for its bevy of places to dance the night away. Additionally, the island where happiness lives truly lived up to its reputation garnering the award for “Friendliest People.” Aruba’s über-resort, The Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino, was also presented with the award for “Best Mega Resort.” The stunning resort offers spectacular sun and surf in addition to numerous unique activities for its lucky guests including the Stillwater Spa, Camp Watapana for the kids, and the Copacabana Casino with a “Carnival in Rio” theme.
With the record-breaking 2003 arrival stats numbering close to a half-million, up 6.32% over the previous year and breaking all pre-9/11 numbers, Aruba’s 2004 is also off to an impressive start. Numbers continue to grow by leaps and bounds and are up 18.70% and 16.55% in January and February respectively as and more and more travelers discover the Dutch Caribbean gem. From cultural highlights like the brand-new ostrich farm and the Access Art Gallery to world-renowned musical events like the Aruba Music Festival featuring the best-of-the-best in the music world, Aruba continues to stay ahead of the competition.
