For the last two years the University Hospital of Gent, has been using the burn balm produced by Aruba Aloe as part of a testing project/program” said Henk Hoeksema, representative of the hospital. This Burn Center is one of the largest and most prestigious in Europe for the treatment of severe burns. In view of this he visited Aruba and signed an agreement with Aruba Aloe to start a clinical two year study with the Burn Balm. During the study they will compare the Aruba Aloe Burn Balm with the current products used with the object to document proof and the results of this research will be part of a scientific report that will be published in several international medical publications. This will definitely bring the Aruba Aloe products to a much higher level with good scientific back-up. The existing problem when treating burn patients is that once a person suffers from severe skin burns, the burned skin won’t heal in a natural way. In these cases the patients will use the Aruba Aloe Burn Balm to diminish the scarring caused by the burn and accelerate the healing process. “We have been working very hard at producing quality products and are currently being sold in the US market through our website www.arubaloe.com with great success and at this moment we are ready to enter the European market as well” said Louis Posner, managing director of the Aruba Aloe.
Aruba to receive the first “Cruyff Court”. The State Secretary had announced in July 2005 that the Dutch Government would finance the construction of a Johan Cruijff Court on each of the five islands of the Netherlands Antilles and on Aruba. The total cost will be 600,000 euros, 100,000 euros per island. The donation has to do with the 50th anniversary of Charter of the Kingdom. The Johan Cruijff Courts will be small-scale multifunctional community sports accommodations giving youngsters the opportunity to practice sports in their own neighborhood. Johan Cruijff Foundation opened its first Cruijff Court in the Netherlands in November 2003. With the Cruijff Courts project, the Foundation aims at stimulating sports for youngsters with or without handicaps at a location in the centre of the neighborhood. On a Cruijff Court, sport is not only a target, but also a means to bring themes like social responsibility, integration, teamwork, standards and values into the game. A Cruijff Court is a modern interpretation of the empty lots that could be found in many neighbourhoods and districts of Dutch cities in the past, but which through the years have often been sacrificed to urbanisation and expansion. The location in Aruba would be at the Parke Curazon pa Deporte Jaburibari.
