Construction Has Begun on 10 Giant Wind Turbines at Vader Pier

Aruba is investing in the future! The construction of the 10 giant wind turbines has begun at Vader Pier, the eastern part of the island. These turbines have a potential to a total of 30 megawatts of renewable energy. The total cost of the project is $90 million and is an investment by the Danish company, VESTAS and WEB Aruba NV. The wind turbines are expected to generate an estimated 18 megawatts total based on the flow of the constant trade winds. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2009.
