KLM hervat vanaf 1 februari 2010 de dienstregeling van Amsterdam Airport Schiphol naar Aruba Airport Reina Beatrix en vice versa. De frequentie bedraagt tweemaal per week. De vlucht wordt uitgevoerd in combinatie met de bestaande Curaçao- vlucht.

KLM staakte de lijndienst op 29 maart 2009. Vanwege de groeiende vraag van de klant naar deze bestemming, heeft KLM besloten weer naar en van Aruba te vliegen. De vluchten worden uitgevoerd met een Boeing 747-400. KLM en Martinair voeren naast elkaar de dienstregeling uit op deze bestemming.

KLM Resumes Service to Aruba

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will resume its service between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Aruba Airport Reina Beatrix on 1 February 2010. The twice weekly service will be operated in combination with the existing Curaçao service.

KLM suspended this service on the 29th March 2009. In response to growing demand on this route, KLM has decided to resume flights between Amsterdam and Aruba. The service will be operated using Boeing 747-400 equipment. KLM and Martinair both operate services to this destination.

Zaterdag 9 Januari 2010 organiseert de Donkey Sanctuary voor de 5e keer een wandeling bij Ayo Rock Formatie. Onder begeleiding van de ezels Ban Ban en Igor wordt het 6 km traject gewandeld. Natuurlijk is het ook mogelijk om hard te lopen.

De opbrengst wordt gebruikt voor eten, drinken en medische zorg.

Inschrijven vanaf 16.00 uur bij Ayo, de wandeling/run begint om 17.00 uur. Kosten Afl 10,- of US$ 6.-

5th Annual Donkey Walkathon

On Saturday, January 9, 2010 the Donkey Sanctuary will be sponsoring their 5th annual walkathon to raise money to help feed and take care of the Aruban donkeys.  The walkathon is a 6 km. walk/run starting at the Ayo Rock Formations.

This is a fun walk/run and there will be donkeys, Ban Ban and Igor, there to walk with you.  Inscription starts at 4pm at the Ayo Rock Formations and the walkathon begins at 5pm.  The cost is 10 Awg. ($6 US)  The cost includes a free gift.

The Palm Beach Plaza’s Christmas preview on Friday night was loaded with music, people and fun as the great new addition to fabulous Palm Beach staged a reveal with a little help from Vibration PR & Mosaic Events.
The affair was entertained by Jossy Brokke, followed by Marisela and the Aquarius band. Santa flew in from the North Pole, and the exciting new Honda models, were on display courtesy of Jossy Motors. The Aruban Resort is Closing

The courts of Aruba declared KL Sales, Marketing and Management Company N.V, the management company of the Aruban Resort bankrupt yesterday, December 17, 2009. Two trustees have been appointed by the court to oversee the bankruptcy proceedings.

The Aruban Resort is closed down until further notice.

At this time, we advise all future guests with reservations at The Aruban Resort to reschedule their visit and contact a travel professional for alternate accommodations.

There is availability at the other resorts beginning December 31, 2010.

Aruba Welcomes New Air Service from AirTran Airways

Oduber, Aruba’s new Minister of Tourism, Transportation & Labor, conducts a ribbon cutting ceremony with James Kogutek, Senior Manager, Strategic Planning for AirTran Airways, at the gate welcoming AirTran’s inaugural flight between Atlanta and Aruba, at Queen Beatrix International Airport on December 19, 2009. AirTran’s new non-stop weekly service is being operated on Saturdays. AirTran Airways is also launching new weekly non-stop service between Orlando and Aruba on January 9, 2010.

Arikok National Park Now Has a Conservation Fee

Arikok National Park announces the implementation of a conservation fee as of January 1, 2010. Adults pay $4 and children up to 17 years of age enter free. There is also a possibility for guided hiking tours which costs $25 for a group of maximum 15 people. Camping and BBQ permits are granted to tourists who already have an accommodation on the island at a price of $25. Opening hours of Arikok National Park are from Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Office hours are from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Park permits are obtainable by contacting info@arubanationalpark.com or via www.arubanationalpark.org
