Aruba Marriott recently launched the Next Gen Housekeeping program with the REX device which allows the housekeeping team to improve their work planning for the room attendants as well as improving room readiness.
The Next Gen Housekeeping Program is a faster way for the Housekeeping team to prioritize rooms and provide faster customer service to guests. In Housekeeping today, room attendants and supervisors have limited contact throughout their shift and have to constantly visit each floor to receive an update on room statuses. With the Next Gen Program, the room attendants can simply use iPod touches to communicate room assignments with the possibility of weighted room prioritization to categorize VIPs, Mobile check-in and queue rooms. Furthermore, the housekeeping team can also manage guest requests and preferences, efficiently rush rooms from Housekeeping to the Front Desk department as well as reporting guest problems. Lastly, Housekeeping supervisors and managers can instantly follow up on room statuses with the housekeeping room attendants. Ultimately, this new program allows the Housekeeping and Front Desk department to provide a streamlined service and increase guest satisfaction. The room attendants feel more empowered and confident in providing faster customer service to our guests. This new program also encourages our room attendants to perform their utmost best and receive recognition for their constant commitment to excellence.
Speaking of being recognized, last week the brilliant hosts of the Housekeeping department at Aruba Marriott celebrated Housekeeping Appreciation Week filled with fun activities to thank the associates for their hard work and dedication.
Housekeeping week was initiated on Monday September 12th, 2016 in the morning where all associates were wearing bright orange T-shirts and enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast buffet in Aruba Marriott’s Grand Ballroom. The associates together with the Aruba Marriott’s property Executive Team participated in a ‘Mummy Activity’ where the associates had to roll up each executive member with toilet paper and add a prop to complete their mummy look. Very entertaining to say the least! On Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, the associates went Baby Beach and spent a relaxing yet fun afternoon with their colleagues. Several activities were setup on the beach for a fun and interactive afternoon. To close off this special week, a wonderful Bingo was organized on Friday morning for all the associates to participate and win great prizes at the Stellaris Casino!
Housekeeping Appreciation Week 2016 was a fun and successful celebration, where the Aruba Marriott’s housekeeping department enjoyed a memorable week and was reminded how much they are appreciated for all that they do.
