Imagine a day filled with brilliant speakers, thought provoking video and mind blowing conversation.TEDxArub will create a unique gathering in our community that will unleash new ideas, inspire and informon all levels of sustainability.

    “Island of sustainable solutions”

In a world that has its set of challenges we need people who speak up and who can show us the way to lead and create a wave of positive vibrations. At TEDxAruba we are happy and humble to welcome the thinkers and do-ers who can teach and lead us.

Welcome to the island of sustainable solutions. Everybody knows Aruba as a pristine tourism destination, but the island also has the ambition to create and become a 100% sustainable society.
Aruba is doing that by creating a new economic pillar: A sustainable knowledge economy. Located at one of the best places in the world, Aruba acts like a hub between the America’s, Europe and the Caribbean region. Aruba is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and with its unique position has grown into a living lab on all levels of sustainable challenges and solutions.
The journey to a sustainable society is very inspiring and already has shown impressive results. With this momentum, Aruba creates the perfect place for established- and start-up companies to research and showcase their great ideas, find solutions for global challenges and share their expertise. The goal is to find creative ways to contribute to a sustainable society and eventually to the rest of the world.

    About TEDxAruba

Via TEDxAruba we attract people and companies in the areas of Tech, Education and Design in order to share their sustainable concepts with Aruba, the region, Europe and the America’s. There’s going to be a nice mix of international and local speakers who will address a wide range of topics within the research and practice of science and culture, often through storytelling. The speakers are given a maximum of 18 minutes to present their ideas in the most innovative and engaging ways they can.

The TEDxAruba mission, like the TED mission, is to propagate Ideas worth Spreading and Actions worth Doing; to inform and inspire. Our specific goal is to turn TEDxAruba into the Caribbeans leading platform and pipeline for great ideas, storytelling, creativity, actionable innovation. In addition to this, our goal is to foster a sense of community amongst the people and organizations who have gathered (and will continue to gather) around this event and to provide a cultural driving force for conversation and action on how to create a sustainable society.

TEDxAruba is an independently organized event licensed from TED to official TEDx ambassador Jim Stolze and organized by the TEDxAruba Foundation. The members of the board of this foundation are Elton Arends (Chairman), Michelle Wever (Secretary) and Antoine Lobato (Treasurer). An important role will be played by the advisory board, in which representatives from the fields of Technology, Education and Design will help identify speakers and give input and feedback on the program of TEDxAruba. The advisory board will be chaired by Dutch Astronaut Andre Kuipers who is a regular visitor of Aruba and has contributed to multiple TEDx events in the Netherlands. Together with a network of fellow thinkers and do-ers and long time collaborators, this team has put together a platform and pipeline for the spreading of (Aruban) sustainable ideas, solutions, creativity, innovation and culture to the rest of the world.
