Visitors to Aruba who are in need of physical assistance may lease/rent medical and home-health-care products and service via

One handicap accessible room with 2 queen size beds.
Tamarijn Aruba Mega All Inclusive
There are two handicap accessible rooms, one room with king size bed. All handicapped rooms are located on the ground floor. Wheelchair accessible door leading to patio, front door 36 inches wide, bathroom door 36 inches wide, bathroom with roll-in shower and grab rails along the side of toilet and shower, low toilet, low light switches, access to pool, and restaurants & bars.

Hyatt Regency Aruba
There are twelve ADA compliant fully handicapped rooms in total, with one on each floor, starting on the 3rd floor. All floors have elevator access. Ground floor rooms are accessible and there are ramps throughout the grounds.
The 3rd floor room has a roll in shower. Remaining rooms have bars for access.
Eight of the handicapped rooms are located to the left of the casino. There is also a pool elevator.

Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino
There are eight handicapped accessible rooms total in total, five in the Bonaire building and three in the Curacao building, six of which are located on the ground floor with accessible doors leading to the patio. In all eight rooms, the toilets are low.

Bucuti Beach Resort & Tara Beach Suites
People in wheelchairs can get nearly everywhere on their property.
Large elevators make it easy for disabled persons to reach upper floors.
Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort
Five handicap accessible rooms are located in the north (Curacao) tower on the first floor and equipped with oversized doorways (entrance and bathroom), bathroom assist bars and tub/shower seat.

Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino
Handicap accessible rooms are ocean view rooms and rest rooms throughout the hotel are equipped for the handicapped. There are four rooms on the 5th & 6th floor near the elevator. Two are king-bedded and the other two are double-bedded. One King and one double are non-smoking and the other two are smoking. They do not have a stall-in shower but a tub with rails.
Smooth walking paths are provided on the property. Wheelchairs are available.

Amsterdam Manor
Facilities can accommodate handicapped people on the ground floor units. The doors are wide and the bathrooms are spacious & equipped with handles. The kitchen counters are also low. For disabled guests, a special parking space is located in front of the resort. There are ramps on the property. Wheelchairs are available. Restaurants are open air making it convenient for wheelchairs.

Occidental Grand
Four rooms are available on two floors: Pool level with two rooms and 2nd floor south tower with two rooms all wheelchair accessible. Wide doors and bars are near the toilet and bathtub.

La Cabana All Suite Beach Resort & Casino
There are two wheelchair accessible suites with shower stalls located on the fourth floor. Toilet chairs and wheelchairs are provided . Access to pools, restaurants and bars. There are suites with two beds available.

Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino
The suites have rooms on the first floor which may be convenient for persons with disabilities. The entire hotel is accessible by wheelchair. In December of 2003, they will have four dedicated handicapped rooms, ADA approved.
Brickell Bay Beach Club
Accessible handicapped rooms on the first floor.
The Mill Resort & Suites
A combination of handicapped rooms close to the lobby and the pool area. The room has special handles for the toilet and the shower is flat open. The room is wheelchair friendly.

Divi Village and Dutch Village
Several rooms are handicapped accessible and throughout the hotel the walkways are equipped for the handicapped. Rooms have easy entrance both front and through sliding doors. The layout is spacious. The bathrooms are also spacious with grab bars.
Costa Linda Beach Resort
A two bedroom (max occupancy 6) and a one bedroom (max occupancy 4) are handicap friendly. The rooms have extra wide doors to facilitate entering the room with a wheelchair. Both unit bathrooms are shower stalls and offer the higher toilets (743 mm high) The units are located on the ground floor and can also be reserved through the front desk.
Tierra Del Sol

Aruba Resort, Spa & Casino

The Manchebo Resort
Ground floor units can accommodate handicapped people. Those in wheelchairs can get nearly anywhere on the property. For disabled guests, Manchebo has a special parking space in front of the resort. Wheelchairs are available.

Queen Beatrix International Airport
The airport meets all standards set forth by the ADA (American Disabilities Act). This includes bathrooms, hold rooms, check-in areas, etc.
There is also a fully equipped medical facility with highly trained professionals. Arrangements can be made through this facility for special needs upon arrival and/or departure as well as emergency treatment while at the airport. Personnel are also permitted aboard aircrafts in emergencies and for evaluation. Please call (297) 582-4800 ext. 300 for further information.
Red Sail Sports
Red Sail Sports is affiliated with the Handicapped Scuba Association (H.S.A.) and the International Association for Handicapped Divers (I.A.H.D.). Prior to taking a course, the disabled diver will need to have a signed medical form from a physician. They will also need to complete a Discover Scuba Diving registration form, including personal information and liability release. Anyone who is blind, paraplegic, or quadriplegic can become certified or participate.

It is advised to call in advance so the handicap of the person can be evaluated according to the requested activity.
The Balia, Fiesta and Goza Catamarans are not specifically equipped for travellers with disabilities. The crew can however lift people on and off the boat and in and out of the water. There is plenty of shade on the boat and ample space for wheelchairs once on board.
De Palm Tours
Buses will soon be available to accommodate the physically disabled.
Pelican Adventures Tours and Watersports
Diving: As long as a person is traveling with a dive buddy with whom is certified and has experience of diving / handling them, he or she will be allowed to go on any of their scheduled dives.

Sailing / Snorkel and Sunset Cruise: Any handicapped person can go on these tours and participate with snorkeling, music and dance. Only in extreme cases this might not be possible, but it is always recommended to call in advance so they can evaluate the persons case to provide permission.

Banana Boat / Wave Runners / Parasailing etc: Depending on the level / type of handicap, they could participate as long as they are accompanied with one parent / legal guardian. Pelican Watersports will not confirm participation in the activity in advance unless they meet in person for a consultation with those concerned.
Atlantis Adventures Aruba
Atlantis Submarines, Sea World Explorer Floating Underwater Observator do not accommodate persons who are handicapped.
Aruba Aloe Factory Tour
A wheelchair can be used throughout the factory except going up and down the ten steps to the observation deck. Assistance is provided if the person wishes to view the factory from the observation deck.
MISCELLANEOUS:
For medical assistance ALL hotels have a doctor on call 24 hours a day (check with the front desk). Aruba has a first class hospital just a few minutes from the hotel sector and an emergency room staffed 24 hrs. tel. 011 (297) 587-4300.

Drug stores cannot fill a prescription from a doctor not residing on the island but will advise how to obtain one if necessary. One drug store in each district is open for 24 hours on a rotating basis for emergencies

Pro-Air Ambulance service is certified to fly to all cities in the United States. Their aircraft, equipped as an ICU unit, can provide medical personnel for the flight. Pro-Air makes arrangements for ambulance service to the airport, handles all customs and immigration procedures both in Aruba and at the destination.
