April 27, 2017

King's Day is an official Aruban holiday as the Netherlands, Aruba and the other Dutch Caribbean islands celebrate the birthday of King Willem Alexander every year on April 27.

An official government ceremony in honor of  the King Willem Alexander is held at the Wilhelmina Park in downtown Oranjestad, where the public can enjoy a parade of Aruba’s military and scouting groups. Numerous sporting events, street fairs and family-friendly celebrations are taking place all around the island. Sports competitions, kite flying contests, and fun-filled activities are held at various sites including community centers.
