The recently inaugurated Museum of Industry is located inside the iconic Water Tower in down town San Nicolas and forms part of a five museum constellation of Fundacion Museo Arubano. The Museum of Industry tells the remarcable story of the industrial development on Aruba during the last two centuries. A history that had global impact and may come as a surprise to many.
It is a story told in different ways throughout the museum and which draws one’s attention to the dramatic impact these industries have had on the island landscape, as well as colorful personages that played an important role during these various industrial developments. This museum will present the history of gold, aloe, phosphate, oil and tourism through elaborate displays and multi media installations. Furthermore, in the green section, the museum will also host a museum incubator project which will present innovative proposals for sustainable development on Aruba by the island youth.
The museum of industry offers a chance to learn of the incredible versatility this little island has shown throughout history and the possibility to experience the touching stories of those who were part of this history.
