The legal drinking age on the island is 16.

The legal age to enter a casino is 18, but it's unlikely you'll be carded or stopped from entering one.

I've read on other sites that the drinking age in Aruba is 18, I'm going to be 17 when I go and I don't think it'll be a problem but can you definetly say that the drinking age is 16?

The legal drinking and gambling age is 18, though it is not widely enforced.

They do check in the casino if you don't look 18. My 16 year old went in and was asked for ID, he looks 16!

I'm not worried about the casino thing, i don't think I'd be much of a gambler, I'm going to be 17 when I go to Aruba, so I could probably get in if I wanted to with the fact they rarely card. I just was interested if i could go out to bars and stuff, I had a lot of fun visiting bars when i was in china awhile ago

I dont know who said the legal age was 16 for drinking but it is actually 18, and for gambling it is 18 too, for driving cars 18, and to enter night clubs it is 18 too. You MUST have 18 to enter clubs

I don't think that you can enter since im 16 and they always ask me for ID. Since you need to have 18 years to enter. But if you want you can add me, garlic_soup@hotmail.com when are you guys coming here?

Hello Friends
The legal drinking age is 18, but DO NOT GO OUT DRINKING ALONE. REMEMBER NATALIE HOLLOWAY. We have been going to aruba for over 10 years now and love it. we feel safe and have never feared for our lives in any way. However young girls should not wander the bars and clubs alone. Enjoy your trip.

I'm coming down alone for a week as a confident solo traveler. I'm 36 and can take care of myself. Is there any worry for someone like me? Is there violence I need to worry about or theft of scams. I'm pretty aware but just wanted to make sure.

It is very safe in Aruba, just use the same common sense you would in your own home town. Don't wander off alone into dark streets, etc. I would have no worries walking along the high rise strip by myself (I am a female) when there are lots of people out and about. Enjoy the island as it is truly special!!:)

16 or 18 for the drinking age? Really does it matter? I still think 21 is too young. Just think................... Even if 16 or 18 is the age that it's ok to drink in Aruba and we let our kids do it what are we saying to them when we get back to the USA. I don't know............ maybe it's just me but it's just like saying to your kids it's ok to drink in your own home and buying them beer. Would you do that?

The drinking age in Canada is 18 and 19 years of age.

I thought the same law applies to Aruba as to the Netherlands. In the Netherlands the legal drinking age for beverages under 15% ABV is 16. The legal drinking age for beverages 15% ABV and over is 18.

Check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_drinking_age

Most clubs require you to be 18 or older, but do not check if you look old enough.

Whichever the case, I need to point out that what appears in Wipedia is not always necessarily a true fact.

"Accuracy

Dross can proliferate, rather than become refined, as rhapsodic authors have their articles revised by ignorant editors.
Anyone can add subtle nonsense or accidental misinformation to articles that can take weeks or even months to be detected and removed.
The very nature of Wikipedia makes it possible for someone to change and/or rearrange an article in any way, resulting in lost information or to the point that the article no longer makes sense." In other words, authors can post pretty much whatever they wish. One person's word against another.
