I just somehow lost the thread that someone was asking on how to reach bully....
His phone # is ( 011-297)593-7520 and he also has email which is bullytaxi79@hotmail.com.
He is reliable, and a gentleman. He has a HUGE van that can hold our 9+ suitcases. We used him on a recomendation from Arubalisa, and will now use him forever....Nice guy, ya gotta love him! You can check out my gallery picture of him so you know who he is. He met us at the airport holding our name...perfect way to start a vacation without any worries...cindyo

Cindy O,
Thanks, I Am Going To Try And Get Him When I Make My First Visit In November, I've Heard Many Say, Such Nice Things About Him. I'm Wondering About His Fee's, I Will Be Going To The Radisson. I Don't Really Want To Rent A Car, So, Does He Try To Make Himself Available If You Should Need A Taxi ?

He's avail for pickups at the airport as well as tours, trips whatever around the island. You've got his email, right. He charges the normal rate...I think he makes his $$ from tips, and of course you'll want to give him one....Good guy!

CindyO,

That was my post and thanks for giving me the info. Everyone has been a big help for information...we all appreciate it. 19 days and counting until our first visit to Aruba.

As taxi rates are regulated by the government, taxi fare from the airport to the Radisson should be $20. (taxi, not per person). This includes 1 piece of luggage per person. Extra luggage is $2. per bag. If arriving/departing on a Sunday or on a Aruba holiday there is a $3.00 taxi (not per person) surcharge. Taxi rates can be checked at Taxi Rates (http://taxiaruba.com/new/farelist.html)

we are using Bully for Sept with a pickup at the airport -a stop at the supermarket for soda- then to the radisson. His quote is $20.00 for the two of us.

We used Bully on our trip from June 8-15 and he was awesome. He was waiting with his son at the airport when we arrived with a sign with my name on it. Had already picked up two coupon bags for us. What a great guy and family. Highly recommend him!

I feel bad for ArubaLisa, must be heading back to the states by now, although she has been giving us updates, I look forward to all her advise, not that everyone here isn't helpful. A BIG FAT HELP, I'm so glad I stumbled across this site, all of you are just the best.

Bully had been off the island for approximately two weeks but is now back. As of yesterday at 12:15 p.m. He specifically mentioned that he knew he had to reply to a LOT of emails he received while away.

I posted this question under another thread but wanted to make sure it was seen. My husband and I would love to hire Bully for a ride to San Nicolas and back while there in a few weeks. Can someone give me a way to contact him once we are there? OR before?

Thanks so much!

:goodpost:Both reasons why I think we will skip it and just enjoy a cold Balashi :D on tap at Pizza per Tutti :D at the Tamarijn :D once we arrive.

Dd and I will get out of dh's hair and "hit the bar" while dh is figuring out his internet connection and checking in with work upon arrival. ;) I am sure she is already plotting which virgin frozen concoction she will choose.

That's a mistake Lisa....it was real nice and cold!

You have to drink quickly here, things evaporate. Why, my 4-1/2 liters are already showing signs of needing re-plenishment!

I've read a lot about Bully and was wondering if i should use him instead of renting a car. There will be 4 adults and 2 kids the 1st week of our trip anmd then 2 more adults for the 2nd week. We really only need a car to go to dinner and a casino every night of the trip and probably the food store a few times throughout the trip. The kids won't be going out at night with us so i really can't see renting a car (really a van or large suv) and wasting the money. I'm thinking it would probably be cheaper to take a taxi??? I could definitely use some advice....thanks.

Bully is great. He picked us up at the airport.
But.... taxis can only take 5 people. So you will have a problem with 6 even with a rental car. Bully does have his brother that he uses to help him, I traveled with a group of 8 so we needed 2 to get from the airport to hotel.

We took taxis for dinner (3 nights out of 6). Depending on where you are staying, and where the restaurants are, should tell what you should do.

hmmmm
imo you may be shelling out more in cabfares than for a car rental.
you can get a compact car for maybe < $200 a week and then figure in about $25 for gas.
do your math and see which is more economical and convenient.

you will be on vacation...........it is nice to have your car for little jaunts to the store, dropping the kids at an excursion, picking the kids up etc

bully is a good guy and does a great job.
but if you need a rental car or 2, contact a car rental agency.

a great one is TROPIC

Don't know if I am reading this right. If you will have 6 people the first week, but only 4 going out to dinner each evening a taxi will be less expensive. Of course, this is also only if you are not venturing further south than Oranjestad for dinner. ;) This even figures in the cost of two taxis picking you up at the airport. Like Sgroi135 said, Bully has relatives (brother, uncle, cousin, nephews) who are also taxidrivers who he would recruit.

NOW, for your second week, if you are 6 adults the following week, a rental would probably be less expensive than one rental, but taxis cheaper than two rentals. Would most likely depend on how much you use the vehicles, will you be dring elsewhere besides dinner, and what kind a "deal" you get on a vehicle. A 7 passenger mini van or SUV would accommodate 6 adults.

Yeah, it will be 4 adults the first week and then 6 the 2nd week. A compact the 1st week might be a good idea because with the exception of going to the store i don't really think we'll drive anywhere. Where is tropic located??? We usually rent from a place near la cabana and i can't remember the name of it....

Tropic will deliver and pick up the car at your resort if you choose.

Maybe I am reading this incorrectly. Will you have some sort of babysitter for the kids the first 2 weeks???

Ok that makes more sense. I kinda thought maybe you would throw the kids in the trunk :D Just Kidding....
We did not use a sitter. We took the kids with us for dinner each night. a 3 and 6 year old.
