Thanks

HANG your NY handicap plaquard on your mirror in a good visible location. (i am assuming it is BLUE with a wheelchair emblem on it right?)

Email your car rental agency and ask too.

Some handicap spots, very few though.
A few at Lacabana, a few at gorcery stores and i did notice some at marriott casino.

Other places i did not notice.

>>> "Does Aruba have handicapped parking spaces?"
---- Some of the resorts have handicapped spaces. But its not uniform/required like in the States where shopping malls/businesses are required to do it. Downtown don't remember seeing any.
>>> "Do they honor my NY handicapped parking permit?
---- Yes.

I always bring my handicapped card for the front window with me and have never had a problem parking anywhere. We are not from NY and our card is honored as yours will be.

My mom lives here with me (she's 81) and has been in a wheelchair since Oct 2007. We find that handicapped parking is kinda up for grabs. They don't have any handicapped id on their car but park there anyway. We find the best way to go anywhere new is to do a "drive by" check out the stairs and barriers and make our plans.

She can get to most places. The only hard place is downtown where we have to see how the wheelchair would do on some of the uneven bricking on the sidewalks.
