REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public next month
REMINDER.... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing
companies and you will start to receive sale calls.

.... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your
time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the
cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a
different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.. It takes about 20
seconds.

Or you can simply do it online: https://www.donotcall.gov/

Sorry Mark. :o http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp (http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp)

"For Release: April 15, 2005 http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2005/04/dnc.shtm (http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2005/04/dnc.shtm)
The Truth about Cell Phones and the National Do Not Call Registry

If you’ve received an e-mail telling you that your cell phone is about to be assaulted by telemarketing calls as a result of a new cell phone number database, rest assured that this is not the case. Telemarketing to cell phone numbers has always been illegal in most cases and will continue to be so. In response to recent e-mail campaigns urging consumers to place their cell phone numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry, the Federal Trade Commission and Federal Communications Commission issue this advisory to give consumers the facts. ..."

Okay, I heard the same thing Arubamark heard and I did that do not call thing for my cell phone about a year ago...do not remember if I did the cell phone call or the internet thing, but I thought it registered.....
Arubalisa, now I don't know why they accepted a cell phone number if I never had to worry about it in the first place ?? Glad to read the new report though, nice to know sales calls can't screw with your minutes...maybe reason for not allowing those kind of calls to our cell phones....
Anyway, thanks Mark and Lisa...we all appreciate little pearls that make our lives easier.

I did some research as well, Snopes provides this information 3 - 4 years ago. It is not current! The bottom line is it can't hurt to do just in case it is real!;)
