Lisa, hope you feel better, and yes, I think the best way is to think of warm weather, white beach, drink and most of all THANK GOD for what we have. I will keep you in my pray for speedy recovery.

:goodpost:
Well, it IS a very chilly 24 degrees right now here in the foothills of the Georgia mountains, but I am warmed and cheered though by all the good wishes from my very dear Aruba BB friends. :)

For those curious as most of us naturally are, I had day stay surgery yesterday morning for, yes a mouthful, Endoscopic Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR). Thankfully  under general anesthetic which I tolerate just fine with the exception of low blood pressure.

I required a new passageway for my natural tears. You know the kind which keeps your eyes moist day in and day out. For some inexplicable reason the glands and ducts were clogged. The only natural cure was the winds of Aruba, but since it is not possible for us to live there....

After walking around dabbing my eyes with tissues off and on for over a year and not finding the right doctor until the fourth  one, it was time to do something about the problem.

Dh has taken some time off from work and his the best nurse anyone could ever ask for. He takes great care of his family each and everyday, but these are even more special. He puts in my eye drops and reminds me to take my meds and has cooked up a storm. With RobO's storm gear, maybe he needs some of dh's hot soup?

After 24 hours I am in a minimal amount of pain, more or less just some discomfort from the plastic drainage tube in one eye. I will spare you the other gorey details unless you wish to google the above procedure.

Nonetheless not nearly as painful as delivering 8 babies and the prospects of not being able to suport them and a lot less, 'er shall we just say less messy than both the flu and child birth and the lifestyle which follows (think ALL those :censored: diapers).

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers and good wishes. :) As my wise old 95 yo, soon to be 96 yo, grandmother tells me, "you always find out who your true friends are." ;) :)

Lisa...I was thinking about you this week. I knew all would go well and I know you have an excellent caregiver at home (Gerry) which means that I don't have to worry about you quite as much! ;)

Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery! :)
