Hi everyone! Wondering if it's worth buying one of those lock boxes before we leave -- won't it take up a lot of suitcase space?

This (Thebeachcabana.com) site has them for $29.99 free shipping. I'm still debating if I want to get one. I need to decide soon so I have it before we go!

Yeah that is a nice deal....but have you ever ordered anything from there? Not sure about ordering from a place that can't even spell? Whats the validity of the company???? Is that wrong....or offensive...sorry if it is... just wondering
But I am very interested in getting one. Just want to have it before we leave. I guess I have time to research them

Shouldn't take up much space in the suitcase, just stuff it with your small bits, or use it for the things that could get squished...I remember one trip where the sun tan lotion got mashed in the case, went everywhere.

and re: spelling if i was judged on my spelling/typing, i would not be allowed on this site
i would not sweat it.

I have not ordered from there - I thought someone did, or maybe were going to?? I understand what you mean about the spelling - sometimes bothers me on websites (not on message boards-my spelling isn't always right on) but it rarely stops me as long as the site is secure. Now if the whole site was full of misspelled words and contradicted itself as in prices or something then no I wouldn't order.

I ordered my Vacation Vault through them, after Michelle & Aaron had posted they had received theirs. I was very impressed with the service. I received an email from the company almost the instant that I ordered, an email to let me know the order was being processed, and an email to let me know it was on the way. I ordered mine on the 15th and received it on the 19th. With the free shipping, it was the best deal of all the ones I found on-line.

As Eagle Beach Boy has said, they can be purchasd in the Palm Beachrea from Juggling Fish and he store beside the Hard Rock Cafe, The Lazy Lizard. When taking shipping etc into account the prices are almost the same.

Oh I am definitely not the greatest speller. I only meant that for a business, you would want to have things in order because if my first impression is that you rushed that site so much so that you have tons of misspelled words, than what are you going to do with my order???
But I googled it.
Thanks for the information

I ordered mine for Christmas and can't wait to use it! Why didn't I think to get one before now? Small world... I discovered on Face Book that my old tennis buddy's husband designed the Vacation Vault! Checked out the name on the patent/and Company and sure enough it was him. Too bad we haven't been in touch since I moved away in the '80's!

Well I am sold...I will order as well. I just wanted to make sure someone ordered and actually got theirs with no problem. We really need one or two of these...and am surprised with all of our trips to Jamaica, that I haven't seen one before. We will definitely have it this time around !!!!
Again thanks for the information
I too just ordered a Vacation Vault from Beach Cabana. The free shipping was nice! Whoever suggested this should be receiving a commission.

Me too. We will be ordering ours from there as well. Just like the others...I just wanted to verify that they are a valid company....
thanks for the information
The vacation vault arrived today. It'll provide peace of mind although I know nothing is guaranteed. Last year we only had books and towels with us on the beach since it was a 2 minute walk back to the room. This year we're renting a car to visit Baby Beach and other areas.

Just ordered one! Since I'll be on the beach alone for a portion of my vacation, this will work well for me when I want to go in the water!

The travel safe talked about here is what people are getting to have on the beach/at the pool so when they want to swim they don't have to worry about their room key, camera, cash etc.
With that said, we never had a problem but it will certainly make me worry less (not looking over my shoulder while in the water).

Honestly, I read about 2 cases at the same resort somewhere on this forum I believe. Of all the forums I read though that's the only thing I've heard. We use the room safes with no problems at all.

Don't worry about the room safes, these are for the beach, and can also be locked under a rental car seat.

no one intended to make you paranoid.
this is for "outside the room safe"
my husband and i used it for the pool and beach.
room key card, ipod, few bucks, camera, sunglasses.
NOT at all a substitute for the in room safe.
welcome to the forum and enjoy your trip to the DIVI

I used ours this trip, loved it I knew my money, camera ipods were safe..just a little piece of mind while at the beach or pool if we wanted to go for a walk I didn't worry about my stuff or have to carry it with me....it didn't take up that much room I just stuffed things in it while in the suitcase. They sell them on the island for about 50.00 I got mine online way cheaper.

I received mine very quickly as well. I agree - it's going to be great for those small items you leave at your seat while in the water. Just wish it was a little bigger so I could fit my Kindle in it!

Ordered a Vacation Vault before we left, as we thought the Holiday Inn would be very crowded at the beach. Well, we used it the first day, and never used it again! I didn't take the camera or cash to the beach when we swam, and kept room key, book, sunglasses, lotion, in a canvas bag with no problem!!!

we used our religiously. i was out at the pool or beach very early every morning and eventually paul joined me. we did not venture far from either of those locations. our vacation vault got attached to the palaypa or poolside table/umbrella. since that area was home base for us every day while in aruba, we felt much safer as we kept our room keys, a few dollars, ipods and camera in it. we are not wild about running back to our lacabana apartment and find it way more convenient and safer to keep our stuff with us.
my point is, many of us spend lots of time outdoors at the pool or the beach and need to have their stuff somewhat secured.
others, do not have the same needs and imo if one is not going to be using it, don't waste the money.
we love ours.

I didn't buy one for our trip and I thought about it as the 2 weeks passed. Our first week we are right outside our room at the pool so it's easy to run in for the camera etc. as needed.
The 2nd week we were farther from the pool and beach and on the 3rd floor so I did wish I had one for those times. It would've put my mind at ease! I purposely left the camera in the room and really wish I had had it a few times!

Ok...I am ready to get one of these vaults...sounds like as great way to keep things safe while in the water. Has anyone had trouble with them not working? I would hate to have camera and stuff in it and not be able to get it off the palapya with my valuables inside. Just a thought...

I am the one that had a problem. Just "SET" the lock before you leave the store. Either I had a finger problem or it was a faulty lock.
It was exchanged with no problems.
We used it every day for 70 days.
