    Best Areas for Snorkeling?

What are the best areas to go for snorkeling?
    And possibly areas for non-swimmer?

Are the tour groups package deal a good value? We may just want to go off and spend a day at one of the better areas.

How is the snorkeling and water activities at the Divi-Divi?

    Go Pats!!!!

Staying at the Divi or the Tamarijn you can use snorkel gear free of charge.

No coral or places for fish or critters to hide in the waters off of the Divi or Tamarijn. Except for the occassional fish swimming by not much to see. You are better off taking an excursion such as Jolly Pirates or Tranquilo.

The Divi and Tamarijn offer a bicycle excursion where you pedal about 6 miles to snorkel up near Arashi.

If you have a rental car or wished to take a taxi, with the Divi's gear you could also snorkel on your own.
http://www.shorediving.com/Earth/ABC/Aruba/index.htm Our favorite spots include Malmok, Boca Catalina and Mangel Halto. Boca Catalina was probably the easiest.

Oh you better believe it. She couldn't do her Saturday chores today, she is still on an Aruba "high". Now that we are home when she is bad I can threaten her with banning her to a chaise lounge on the next trip!!!

I would go to Malmok, if you go out a ways you can find a lot of star fish, kind of cool, especially for kids. and or Baby beach by the refinery.

    Happy Hunting!

I think the absolute best place is Mangel Halto, just a little south of the desalination plant. It's not as easy to get to as Malmok or Boca Catalina, but it has an incredible coral reef. If you are going to do Malmok I reccommend going late in the afternoon as the sun really lights up the coral at the at the bottom of the cliffs just below the water line allowing you to see a lot more.

Harachi Beach *spelling* just past the Marriott's High rise area. BEST beach for snorkeling. It is where the snorkel boat tours take you! You can swim in right from the shore, shallow and great snorkeling. We found it two years ago, best thing we ever did!

    enjoy!
