Charlies bar and restaurant

If you have not been to Charlies in San Nic, it is a mudt do. It is a "right of passage" in many folks' opinions.

In the late 90s we went to Charlies a few times. The original Charlie was still alive.
A few years passed and we went with a large group (i believe that there were 10 of us) and that was our last visit.

My grandsons have been there and think it is just "really cool"

If you are a "Charlies Newbie" give it a try. After all it could be your right of passage.

It is a good spot to have a late lunch on the way home from Baby Beach.

We went for the first time this trip and it was TOTALLY worth it! Fun place!!

In 37 trips I have not been there 1x, lol. If I was driving by it I would probably stop in for the experience but I almost never rent a car.

Same for us - we never rent a car so we’ve never been to Charlie’s Bar but would love to try it. Prefer not to drink and drive on vacation.

We almost went once. I had requested a stop there on our taxi tour. He drove by, pointed it out but didn’t stop! I didn’t say anything as it was early and I assumed he would loop back, but NO. Maybe some day.

We went once. It is cool inside, but wasn't impressed with much else.

Charlie's bar isn't for everyone, but we always have a good time there. We were there one time when Conde Nast was taking pictures for their magazine. We had to sign release forms and it was quite exciting. Honeymoon Sauce is a must buy to take home. Good food and ice cold drinks make it a place we stop by frequently when in San Nicolas.
