Someone had posted someplace that OAK is full 3 months out.
Has anyone made any reservations with only a few days or weeks out?

We had a "less than stellar" experience there in Oct. Main issues were poor /non-existent service and charged incorrectly on our bill (so pay attention to your bill there). We also thought the atmosphere inside was cafeteria-like. Seating outside was better as long as you don't get the table next to the cars in the parking lot. LOL! Might venture back one of these days and try again but, for now, not worth our time or money.

I'm concerned about the location.... that close to traffic and parking doesn't scream...… 'island setting'.....!
So we went in December and made a reservation last week for our March trip. They don't answer emails very well but do answer facebook messenger, which in itself is a bit of an issue.
We really enjoyed our meal when we went in December. I agree the ambiance is nothing special and I didn't particularly care for the inside setting. We sat outside closer to the "parking lot" but it didn't bother us, to be honest. The corner was lovely with a square table which was perfect for 8 people and it had lots of greenery to try and camouflage the parking lot. The lot is very small so you aren't getting a ton of cars and we went late so this didn't seem to be an issue.
We all found our food very good and the service was attentive. We all had a wide range of dishes and everyone was very happy. We are returning in March so I will see if it still lives up to the December meal.

We dined here in Early August and I think the restaurant was fairly new. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The staff was more than attentive. We dine early so they were not real busy but as time passed it became very busy. I would not hesitate to return. As each of us have our own likes and dislikes. We have all had our own disappointments with restaurants so I hope we will enjoy our next experience with The Oak.
