    Wacky Wahoo

Pre Covid.....Wacky Wahoo used to have a reservation system that was to many unacceptable.
They would not take online or open table reservations.
They would begin answering their phone at 4 pm and accept reservations that way.

Currently.... they do not answer their phone at all.
They do not take reservations at all.
Folks begin lining up outside their door as early as 4:30.
When we went to Pika's which is next door to Wacky's...we noticed a large crowd..maybe 40 people waiting at 6:30!

Seriously, there has got to be a better way.

Why can't they join Open Table? Why can't they employ someone to just deal with reservations either online or by phone?

Sure their food is good, but having to get there at 4:30 and wait in the hot sun OR show up at 6 and wait for an hour+ with the masses?

I do not like the food enough to do either. Even if this place was the "be all and end all," I still would not wait in the sun or with the crowds.

As long as people do the above there is no motivation for Wacky Wahoo to change. While I am in the minority...back when they were taking reservations...I found the food to be consistently good (not fabulous but good) ...but never liked the setting. The only line I would wait hours in is perhaps for the second coming....of Elvis!!

Years ago, when we tried and tried to get reservations or even someone on the phone and could not, we gave up. Even last year when we stayed in an Airbnb just up the road from WW, we didn't bother. There is no ambiance there, and that IS part of what makes a good restaurant experience. There are too many other good places to try to give this one our business. To each his own

Not many things I would wait in line for but food is not even on the list. I would have to be starving.
I did wait in line a few times for Christmas things that Santa probably wouldn't have enough of years ago....cabbage patch dolls

Stu and I were talking about restaurants we wanted to go to and I said Wacky Wahoo. I guess that is not happening anytime soon. There are too many great places to eat on this island.

We've been there twice in low season. Arrived early and walked right in. We don't go in low season anymore, so we'll also probably give it a pass.

Hi, I enjoy WW and go there around 8 or so and never waited more than 40 minutes and I start talking to people there and I enjoy meeting new people and having a drink with them. I was there with my wife one night and was given a table for 4 so I went to the bar and asked if anyone wanted to sit with us and have separate checks. We had one couple and had a great time talking with them.
