Same-sex wedding in Aruba: has anyone had/been to one?

Hello, my boyfriend and I got engaged a few weeks ago, and are looking at Aruba for a destination wedding in January 2018. One of the reasons we like Aruba is we hear its gay/lesbian friendly. For resorts, our top two choices are the Renaissance Suites and Divi all inclusive. (The Hilton is the only one that states on their website they are same-sex wedding friendly, but we really want an all-inclusive to make it easy for our guests.) Has anyone been to or had a same-sex wedding at either resort? Both wedding coordinators say they are same-sex wedding friendly, but would be good to double check with someone that has been to one or had one. Are there other resorts people have had a same-sex wedding at we should look into? The last thing we want on our special day is bigotry, especially with our friends and family all around us and supporting us. Any feedback would be great! Thank you!

aruba is very welcoming, and diverse.

aruba is not yet performing same sex marriages....so my understanding is that you are looking for the beach ceremony/blessing ceremony etc?

you need to contact the wedding coordinators at the Divi and the Renaissance.
please luet us know what they say.

i am also going to push this thread on to a gentleman named Tino Daal aka Cyclone Promotions (he is a member here)
he is a dj and also works at the renaissance as the activities director.
he might have some good insight.

Welcome and best of luck finding a great place to get married. If you are from the US, like me, they only do civil ceremony/blessing as Andrea mentioned regardless of same-sex or not. Have fun. If you did the Hilton the gets could stay next door at one of the Riu properties that are both AI, another option.

Thanks Andrea! The legal paperwork we will just do at the courthouse beforehand here in the US. We have a good family friend to do the actual ceremony. We just wanted to make sure resort staff Mae wedding staff are open and accepting!

i have one comment about the resort wedding staff.
imo, if they are not open and accepting (or cannot fake it very well) they are in the wrong profession.

i am so glad that you are getting "legally married" in the usa first.
i did not want you to have your heart on being legally married in aruba and then not being able to fulfill.

i got some kind of a news release recently about same sex marriages in either holland or in other areas of the dutch kingdom.
i'll have to dig around and find it.

The island is very friendly to all I've never personally seen a same sex wedding ceremony there, but I wouldn't be surprised to see one. I have seen photo shoots on the beach of same sex couples Made me very happy to see!
